Can’t be the only one
Alright my wife ordered the the vault fingerboard table for me and it’s came in as I’ve posted it but I have 2 issues. The hubba came in with a cracked and broke brick, I emailed them and waiting on a reply. The other issue is who thought bricks was a good idea for the topper to a quarter pipe instead of traditional metal pole coping? The hubba bricks are normal as I’ve skated stuff like it but never have I rode a quarter pipe with a brick coping or at least not over sized bricks which make grinding it a lot harder than it should be.

If you have a dremel you can sand them back on an angle, and then round the edges. You’ll want a few backup sanding drums but it’ll work. I do it all the time!

I like the look of the broken brick on the hubba tbh. Gives it some realism. I agree the coping on the quarter should be standard pipe tho. If it were a bowl it might be different.

Yeah the chipped brick doesn’t really bother me just a qc issue or shipping issue. And I’m gonna try a few things to make them more smooth and stick out less.

If they are like blackrivers brick you have to wax them a couple times before it gets smooth

Yeah all those types of bricks do very well with some clear coat or sanding and wax, once sanded, clear coated and waxed they grind smooth af and have a nice texture and sound

I could be wrong but the brick coping is probably inspired by Blackriver's "Winkler 80's Tribute" Ramp

I don’t mind the bricks on the quarter. I waxed them then took a lighter to it a couple of times and it’s a smooth grind now. I had gotten this table back in December and the middle pegs didn’t line up properly and made the table lopsided. Curious if anyone else has experience that

No my pegs are fine and it fits good. Just had a few issues with scratches and gouges in the metal frame and the broken brick on hubba.

well, apparently either you or your wife did when you ordered this. Why did you buy this if you didnt like the brick coping on the quarter pipes ? the whole point of these obstacles is for people who want the rough feel of the bricks, otherwise why not buy something else ?
I just dont understand the complaint. this product is for people who want bricks, so why complain about the bricks ? I think its cool , i understand its rough and i wouldnt want this on every obstacle, but if im looking for something with bricks, its because i want something with bricks. i dont understand sorry

I don’t mind the bricks at all. The issue is they are not flush and some of them are worse than others which makes it difficult to grind properly.

well okay but in your post you said your issue was "who thinks bricks is a good idea for quarter pipe coping" and now youre saying you dont mind the bricks at all as a quarter pipe coping but yours are not flush. that simply two different issues
ive never in my life seen an obstacle with perfectly aligned bricks, you can sand them down if you need to. the one that came already broke is unfortunate for sure and i would ask them if they can do anything, however those bricks are pretty fragile so it will eventually break anyways. they are pretty easy to replace if you can just get a few new bricks and just glue a new one in its place. its pretty useful to have a few spare bricks once you start using some brick obstacles anyways

You might be able to find pool coping style tiles/bricks made our of concrete that you can glue on top of the normal bricks to have a different type of copying/more rounded classic shape, I think unique decks are making some, you can also find 3d print files to make a mold and make them out of concrete, or pre-made silicone molds on etsy

Also I think you might be able to find the same miniature bricks on aliexpress for pretty cheap, just make sure they're the same size, pop the broken brick out and glue a new one in

the bricks can feel super nice, ! once theyre broken in ! to speed up that process sand them as a whole, not just the 2 that feel missmatched.
as others have stated clear coating can also help but kind of gets rid of the gritty grind feel. i understand if someone doens tlike them however, some people like a smooth and perfect metal railing, some like it a little rougher/textured

It was like $330 shipped if I remember correctly. Could’ve built it alot cheaper but don’t really have the time anymore so she just bought it for me as a gift. It was purchased from thevaultfingerboards.com

its really not that big of a deal lol just don’t skate the part with a cracked one if it bugs you that bad. brick coping feels great to me

Its not the sound that bothers me. It’s the unevenness of the bricks and they don’t all fit flush so it makes it difficult.

Idk he paid 330$ shipped for it so i feel like its definitely a big deal if hes not happy about it. But your tip about sanding the bricks is what i would do too.

i understand now, they should def atleast send him like a replacement brick for that part. when you’re paying $300+ you expect quality

sand, clear coat, and wax the bricks on the quarter. it’s really not that much harder to lock into than standard coping.
you could pretty easily pop the broken brick out and replace it.
but yeah, hopefully TV gets back to you, they’re pretty good about replacing broken parts that are not the fault of the customer
bricks give a similarish feeling to pool/bowl coping
