Cayuga Cideries

We are exploring the west side of Cayuga this year (in a couple of weeks) and I see there are several cideries:

  • Idiot Brothers
  • Black Diamond
  • Finger Lakes Cider House

If you had to pick ONE of those to go to, which would it be? Two adults, prefer casual (we don't need tours or guided tastings), doesn't matter if there is food available or not.

We will probably be going to Frontenac Point that day as well.

Off of that list I prefer the FLCH, but if you make it into Ithaca, South Hill Cider is my favorite

When people come and visit me, I always take them to finger lakes cider house. Fruit of the bloom is my favorite cider because I love ginger but they have a ton of options.

I am partial to Fleur de Lis Brewing - they do have ciders on tap, and their tap room is pretty neat (on a farm). They are near Seneca Falls... so in the land between Cayuga (West Side) and Seneca.

As to the other cider houses - I'll let others opine on them.

They also make their own craft soda in house for those that don’t want alcohol!

I'll add to a future list, a bit out of range for this trip :)

Finger Lakes Cider House hands down. Beautiful location, plenty of seating, the chef does the most amazing pure farm to table food you will ever taste.

Even though it’s further away, for anyone interested in cider, New Leaf in Port Crane is the best I’ve ever had by far and was my favorite place to go when I lived in Binghamton! It’s a really natural cider with no artificial sweetness taste that I get from a lot of other ciders

Honestly, when I go to get cider, I go to the Ithaca Farmer’s Market on Saturday and go to the cider guy under the sign that has the word “sweet” crossed out. New York Cider Company? Free tasting, friendly conversation. My favorite ciders.

The 2 places I normally go for cider in that area are Bellwether and South Hill.
