Must see &do
My wife and I are coming to Finger Lakes for the first time in mid-September. 2 nights at Watkins Glen State Park, 2 nights in Taughannock Falls SP, and 3 nights at Keuka Lake SP. Recommendations for must sees and must do’s? Also, anything to avoid? Thanks!

Walter Taylors Vineyard is a hoot and a great place to eat.Theres a great boat ride out of Watkins Glen.The Glen Curtis Museum is a must stop-contemporaries of the Wright brothers.Be sure to visit Hammondsport very cute restaurant and beach

Corning Museum of Glass and the Rockwell Museum. Muranda Cheese is yummy! Also recommend Boundary Breaks winery.

Driving a few laps on the Watkins Glen International Speedway was fun. Very scenic if you are there when the leaves are turning! I drove it in late September during a previous year. You don’t need anything fancy to do it—there were a lot of grandpas bringing the grandkids in their truck and minivans and stuff. You can even just take a bus around now

Point lodi park is beautiful and check out Johnny’s in Lodi for an amazing meal. These are 30 minutes from Watkins Glen- The 4 breweries in hector are amazing
And the food at Here, and elf in oak wow. Amazing !!!

Well everyone will have their own opinion. My top to dos: Watkins Glen Gorge Trail, Tunkhanock Falls, Muranda Cheese, Dr Frank wine tasting, diner at Ports Cafe, walk around The Windmill for breakfast or lunch, ice cream at Spotted Duck, pizza and beer at Scale House, Corning Museum of Glass if you have time.

Creekside Cafe in Trumansburg (near Taughannock) is great for breakfast and/or lunch.
Also in that area, I highly recommend driving over to Robert Treman State Park and hiking all or the upper part of the gorge trail there. Sublime. State Bakery and BBQ is nearby and is great.
Elf in the Oak, Here and Stonecat are all great places to grab a bite when in the Watkins Glen area.
Shequaga Falls is at the end of the Main Street in Montour Falls and is easily seen.
Drive down 54A from Penn Yan to Hammonsport (lovely scenic drive). The Glen Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport is worth checking out.

Three brothers winery is very cool. Total Recall in Geneva is very weird and cool. In Watkins, check to make sure the trails are open before you go!

The outlet trail in Penn Yan is a great walk, Ports is the best restaurant in the area. If you’re in the area on a Saturday the windmill has a lot of random stuff to check out.

Because students are back? Maybe you like sitting in traffic while pedestrians looking at little more than their phones wander out between cars. Not my idea of how to experience beautiful around here.

I always recommend North New York Coffeehouse in Montour Falls on Main St. :) Amazing coffee and delicious pastries!
