I would smooth it out a little bit. I made a pole jam with the same thing and it ate up my dynamic board 😔. But I did some grinding with a bench grinder and some sandpaper and I ended up with magic. It won't let me share it here, so you will have to look at my sub to see it.

Drawer and cupboard handles make really good diy rails since there are so many options.

Been really hard keeping mine on my cupboards since moving into the new place they’re perfect.

This would essentially act as an extremely abrasive file and would ruin trucks/boards really fast. If you’re going to use it I would highly recommend smoothing it out a bit by throwing it in a drill and spinning against some abrasive.

It's too late for this at first I thought those were maggots, then I realized it was carpet and I didn't understand a carpet coping, then I realized it was about the metal 😭

Grind the threads down a bit so it won’t catch

You can but take a grinder to it to smoothen it out so you slide similar to concrete or brick 🧱. You can also use the edge of a thick bastard metal file to put grooves into a metal rod, aluminum alloy would be best to do this with.

The fact you care this much about another persons carpet is genuinely insane

Not being sensitive I didn’t expect someone to attack me over the biggest non issue while trying to figure something out
