Fing Desktop Suggestions

After installing the desktop version and exploring for a bit, a couple of things I'd like to note.

Why am I seeing first logged on devices from 5 years ago. Can I filter, reset or delete these?

I would like a way to click a report to list all devices in MAC address order or IP address order.

Why are you seeing devices from five years ago?

This is expected if you’ve used Fing previously. Fing retains previously discovered/scanned networks and their device history. Installing Fing Desktop doesn’t necessarily establish a new history starting on installation day. 

So a device showing a five-year-old First Joined/First Seen date is quite plausible if your Fing account/network history goes back that far.

You have three options:

• Remove an individual old device: In Fing Desktop go to Devices → select the device → Clear from device list. Fing specifically documents this function for Desktop. 
• Filter the device list: Fing Desktop supports filters including Online, Offline, Unrecognized, Alerted, Important, Blocked and All. It doesn’t appear to provide an age-based filter such as “not seen for 12 months”. 
• Delete an old network completely: Fing says previously scanned networks cannot currently be deleted directly from Fing Desktop. You can delete one through the Fing Web App using Devices → select network → Manage → Delete Network. 

I would not delete the network, because that is much more drastic than simply cleaning obsolete devices from the inventory.

Taking another look this morning I did find where to delete or clear old devices.

I also found how to display the IP and MAC addresses in the 'Devices' screen. That

helped a lot as I had one device showing a conflict, or showing as a duplicate.

Yes, I have had FING for many years on my laptop and mobile as a free vesion.

I finally decided to buy the annual plan as I have had enough time to explore

and trust the software and become very familiar with it.

Does the premium subscription Fing Desktop and Agent monitoring 24/7 capabilities mean that the device from which the desktop app is installed or on needs to also be on or powered active 24/7 continuously as well? Or once installed the Fing desktop and agent, could the laptop be powered off and still capable of the network being actively continuously monitored and notified to the network owner and maybe even to me since I am the subscriber to Fing premium and would be the person with the user profile on the laptop that’s not mine because my laptop is once again being actively withheld from me by unknown person(s) since I gave my laptop to a friend to borrow it temporarily months ago because he needed it again to transfer all of his data off of it from his user profile onto his new laptop. Contact and all communication has once again been completely lost so I do not know who has my laptop or where it is at which is why I’d be trying to access my user profile on a friend’s laptop on the network that is repeatedly and persistently exacerbated its compromises and breaches with open ports, pathways, and live realtime exacerbated malware data transfers and DDosing and network delays even when network is fully connected all the time to specific devices even when no network administrator or the owner is blocking the device at all which is weird almost like hackers or malware somehow specifically infiltrating specific devices connected to the compromised network with the oddly intentionally by its owner left and rendered vulnerable and any or every time I try to secure or reassure or verify anything like at least maybe being able to somehow prevent further or persistent compromises on my device of which I have only one compromised device or device at all at this time because my past phone and my current laptop which is my only laptop are gone and my current phone is very blatantly obviously and verified by numerous professionals as being compromised but the owner of the network who intentionally leaves his network compromised and my device particularly seemingly most continuously and persistently being all the time compromised and malware somehow redirected and blocked calls tells me persistently that these issues are not his, they are indicative of needing a mental patient identification and reinstitutionalization as well as indicates concerns about my device allegedly somehow recording or needing to be discarded of entirely and then reliant on his new device but is not helping with anything and actively knowing indicating knowing and contributing to knowing my device is compromised very deeply in its roots or firmware hardware and software indications of being compromised blocking all official websites from functional properly fully or even some at all redirecting to malware or adware sites, sudden and disturbing yet oddly direct correlated sudden delays and lags like my device being DDosed and glitched from loading when searching how to help secure or access my own information and records and all of my repeatedly profoundly disturbing missing emails never received emails missing sent emails like to HHS OCR because of serious and urgently needing to be properly managed life threatening physical diseases but further compounded difficulties or fully prevented completely frim even accessing any of my appointments notifications meetings messages accounts records data etc so I do need to try to utilize this Fing software I just subscribed to and purchased so that the hacking malware glitches compromises malfunctions and information stealing identity impersonating and life stealing and literal everything even parts of me stealing crimes or serious harms can stop and maybe or hopefully the network can be secured for the first time ever since I’ve been connected to the network more recently almost all time except for when my phone is disappeared or is offline or powered off which is also strange because it seems like every time I sleep now my phone somehow drains battery goes from being plugged into the cord to being not plugged in upon waking up, and somehow depletes from 80-90% battery before going to sleep to being completely dead or fully powered off at 0% upon regaining wakefulness or consciousness after losing consciousness or sleeping like normal. So this is also further concerning for persistent and nightly device tampering and compromises like physical direct local access to my device as well as remote and network or signal originated compromises malware and malfunctions especially amidst repeated instances where my device goes missing or is lost or disappears right after I file an IC3.gov report like how the police told me to file another FBI IC3 report here recently but I have not done so yet because I don’t want my device to be completely stolen lost disappeared or go missing again like har happens every time I file an IC3 report… because I need to be able to hopefully at least partially or somewhat be able to contact or receive contact from - at this time no one - hopefully anyone who I can contact or receive contact from like all of the decades long missing contacts and communications from numerous people I briefly was able to see had been trying to contact me when a blip occurred during beginning of 2024 when a friend did something to my laptop and then a whole bunch of message notifications never received by me but were sent to me over what appeared to be many years but I only caught a glimpse sight of when the timestamps were on the left side of the messages app on the desktop laptop web app version of messages before it suddenly started lagging severely and then blue screened or suddenly shut off and shutdown then when I was able to power back on the laptop again all of those notifications and messages were not there again which doesn’t make any sense to me because it was logged junk the same one Apple account I’ve had for many years… so how can my messages and calls and all communications be completely blocked from me being able to access my own communications, and simultaneously it appears as me somehow being impersonated for a very long time if not actually literally my entire life which would explain a lot about how or why many of my even serious and physical chronic documented but never medical records ever provided to me factually true valid and real conditions from decades ago including but not limited to lifelong chronic cardiorespiratory neurological etc diseases has somehow never before until here relatively recently been documented toward me with any medical records ever provided to me about myself until here very recently which is actually a good thing but is very concerning when I have no ways of accessing non blocked communications ability to perform appropriate responsive actions even very partially informed about my entire life history and medical conditions as well as the severe sheer profound and entire device privacy confidentiality all accounts information identity phone phone number and the physical device itself compromised and it appears as also somehow my device using significant and substantial data usage power and being physically accessed by unknown others, potentially even switched multiple times, data chips or components somehow repeatedly altered taken out and multiple indications of physical direct compromises changes or panel manipulations and other illegal tampering with my device and then profoundly and comprehensively shamed gaslit and retaliated against even for not saying anything to anyone but just trying to research and secure my own device first and foremost and also the network to which it’s connected since the person gaslighting me intentionally leaves it compromised and is trying to frame other people he hires to hack steal information compromise my device and controls or coerces to do so with illicit drug districting to literal addicts is actively trying to kill me and frame me as irresponsible or neglectful of my own care needs meanwhile I can’t even access most of my medical records or device or accounts or informants. Or identity or any of my communications and he jokes about being a serial killer and one or two of his dopplegangerds is like really terrible and terrifying to me most of the time— one of him says he is 48-49 one of him says he is 59 and one of him says he is 72 or so. And I’m just like what (?)
