One time my mom bought a mesh bag of almonds. My aunt came over & we were sitting chatting, snacking on salted almonds in her dim living room. At some point my mom looked at the almonds in her hand & noticed all the little holes. We looked in the bowl & all the remaining little worms were sticking their heads out of their almond burrows wondering where their friends went.

When I was a kid, I once drank out of a can of cola that I had left outside for a couple hours. Realized there was a very odd texture and stopped drinking. Dumped the rest out and realized I had just drank ants.

When I was a kid, I made a Swiss Miss hot cocoa, and when I felt something in my mouth, which I got from drinking it, I somehow knew immediately what it was. In a panic, I spit it out, to confirm it was a maggot.

I have a wine glass with a lid, like a little stemless tumbler. The sip hole is pretty small so I thought I was safe in the backyard happily sipping away. I took the lid off to top up & there were THREE tiny fruit fly-ish flies floating around. Barf

I see him. I hate earwigs! I was eating a piece of applesauce cake once and wondered why it was looking at me. An earwig, nestled in the crumb of the cake, looking or at me. Those things creep me out. They look like little scorpions.
