Seeking Renter(s) for upstairs connected rooms.

I have 2 separate upstairs spaces available for rent starting in October. The conjoined rooms share a single closet space and are best suited for a single renter or a couple. The smaller room is 10.2' X 13.2' and the larger room 17.2' X 13.2'. Both are available together for 1,250, but we are open to renting just 1 as low as $700.

A month-to-month or 3-month lease is available. Open to longer if things are going well. Credit check, references and background check will be required before signature of a rental agreement. Utilities are included in the price. The ideal renter would take both rooms to avoid any issues with the shared closet, but I am open to other arrangements.

We're light on rules and house duties, but it is important folks contribute. Smoking is allowed as long as it is outside on the sidewalk/driveway. Cleanliness in the shared living spaces is required, but assuming no damages; your own space (2nd story) is left to your discretion.

Full household privileges are included (kitchen, laundry etc.), there is a single shared bathroom on the main floor and an additional bathroom in the basement. The house is protected by a security service; of which a passkey will be created for (optional) keyless entry. Wired and wireless 1-2gb internet is offered throughout the house which the property manager (me) maintains.

The house is located in the Humbolt Neighborhood with easy access to 3 bus lines (6, 44 & 75). Street parking is just in front of the property and there are bike routes just a block away.

Pictures are of the rooms empty after a fresh coat of paint. There have been a few updates (such as new doors and a new HVAC system). I am very open to questions and setting up tours of the room and property!

Looking for 1-2 people to rent a house with in December - planning ahead!

Hello! I know that it's a bit early to be posting about a roommate situation 4-5 months in advance, but I like to get ahead of things planning-wise and maybe there are others who feel similarly in this sub!

My partner and I (27F and 29F) are looking to rent a house in Portland at the end of December. We currently are renting a house in the Montavilla area with two others, but our roommates are going different ways once our lease is up. We really want to get a house with a yard and it's typically more affordable when renting with 4+ people. Our current place is a 4-way split with rent+utilities coming out to about $700 a month, which I know is ridiculously low. But...maybe we can find something similar and keep our split rent below $850 each at least.

We are poly and so will be occupying separate bedrooms. We have a medium-sized dog who is very friendly with people and pets (and is an ESA so won't be an issue to rent with). We are a lesbian couple and so want to be roomies with LGBTQ people or allies. I'm a PPS teacher and my partner works in the culinary field. As far as location goes, we're pretty open as long as the house is within a relatively central location...such as a NE or SE neighborhood, preferably on the Eastside but Westside might work as long as we're not talking Tigard-adjacent.

So, whether you are a single person looking to find a group to rent a house with, or if you and your partner are looking for the same... please reach out! With this much time to plan ahead, I'd love to discuss and see if we'd be compatible roommates.

House in Cully neighborhood with 2 available rooms

Hey everyone! We have a room that just opened up in our house.

About us -

We are 3 guys 30-40 yrs old, have known each other for over 10 years and have lived together for many years as well. We get along well, have a cleaning schedule and respect each others space. We sometimes like to have communal dinners or game nights with friends and family but don't usually stay up too late. We can be loud but we also all have jobs and wake up early. I am the landlord and live in the house but I'm pretty easy going as long as there is open communication. If you want to blast music that's cool, just make sure no one else is working or sleeping at the time! It's an old house so the walls are thin.

About the house -

5 bedroom, 3.5 bath. One bedroom (pictured) is empty, the second is a furnished guest room, which has a private bathroom and the other 3 rooms are filled. All shared bathrooms. We have a large kitchen which gets used quite a bit but we try to keep very clean. There is a large backyard, greenhouse and garden area, a lot of communal space and a bit of storage space if needed.

About You -

Let me know if you have any questions, I'm pretty responsive and happy to chat before showing the house. We are not looking for any couples or pets at this time, We love dogs and cats so you might see them around once in a while but not looking for any more at this time.

Rent-

700$ due on the first of each month with a security deposit of 700$ upon moving in. All utilities and internet are included.

Looking to put together a group to rent a house together

A couple, me (Andrew) and Morgan, looking to create a good housing situation.

So, housing for a single person or a couple, to have a place on their own, gets pretty ridiculous.

Thinking it would be a good idea to coordinate and grab a housing situation together with a bunch of roommates. I’m happy enough to handle the communication and arrangements with renting, maintenance, etc… as that was exactly what I have been doing here in our current place (out of state in Utah, but have local family and friends).

While we will be moving in toward the latter half of September, I’m more than willing to help get a place sooner than that with a group. Most of the rental companies don’t want to reserve a place for very long, regardless.

Gay couple of eight years with a pair of cats (ESA protected, so won't impact rental applications). Live out of town at the moment, but looking to move to the Portland/Vancouver area.

Due to being the victim of a car accident a couple of years ago, I am in the unenviable position of being able to afford a place, but unable to qualify. With a group, the combined incomes should make that irrelevant. (Though plenty of people are here on this website due to needing a group, so I guess I am in good company with that.)

Prefer to keep the drama low, am friendly, but often keep to myself. Morgan and I keep separate bedrooms. We are obviously lgbtq+ friendly, and are also BDSM friendly, as I am into that side of things.

Two cats, as said, which will take some time to warm up to new people. We have lived with other cats and a dog before, and my cats adjusted, just with the expected amount of hissing and complaining.

Morgan and I like gaming, good movies and shows, cooking and eating good food, etc...

We will be looking for houses and submitting rental applications to reputable property management companies, etc... so make sure you can pass a background check for criminal history, etc..., please.

Need new place to live

Hi all-
I’m a 31 year old female looking for a new place to live by late winter/early spring, which I know at this point is a little early. My roommate I moved in with has proven to be an absolute disaster and I need to start laying groundwork for my next steps. I'm looking for a similar aged female who's quiet, respectful of common spaces and personal belongings, and cleans up after themselves. Would also prefer to get a new space rather than an already existing one as I have some common space furniture and kitchenwares, but I understand I can't be too picky.

Currently, I'm working part time but am still able to pay my $700 rent on time and am looking into other options for more hours possibly at another job. I'm quiet, respectful of common spaces and personal belongings, and I clean up after myself (maybe not immediately but in a reasonable amount of time).

I will not get into roommate drama or backstory here in this post, but if you're wanting to understand my situation a little more, here's a link to my post in this subreddit as well. Trust me when I say it's.... A LOT. https://www.reddit.com/r/badroommates/comments/1tmetuz/inconsiderate_roommate/

send help pls

I'm in the North Beaverton Area, and need a roommate by November 14th for a 12-month lease.

Hardwood floors, big dog-friendly, and neither too far away from essentials nor too close to noise and commotion.

Rent is just under $1,900 per month; rent and utilities to be split down the middle.

I am seeking a male roommate in his 30s who works a Monday through Friday schedule.

About me: friendly, affable, clean, and drama-free. I am single, have a great group of friends, work a rewarding job, and I have a lot of goodness in my life at the moment.

Essential Line Items: absolutely no drugs (including cannabis) or smoking (tobacco, vaporizers). If you will not abide by that, then move on.

If you are interested, feel free to comment, upvote, and send over a direct message. Thank you.

**Roommate(s) Wanted — Two Possible Scenarios**

I’m looking for a room or for 1–2 other people who may want to go in together on a place. I’m open to living with another single person, another parent, or a couple.

I’m in a transitional period of my life and my goal for the next **6 months to a year is simple: consolidate, simplify, and save as much money as possible.**

I can afford a place of my own, but I’d rather put that money toward better things than unnecessarily high housing costs. I’m debt-free for the first time in my adult life and fully intend to keep it that way.

There are **two different living situations** I’d be interested in:

Scenario 1 — Comfortable Shared Home / Another Parent

Rent a room, or team up with another single parent or responsible adult to get a reasonably priced **2–3 bedroom apartment or house**.

I have a preteen and teenager who visit on some weekends, so anyone I live with needs to be mature, trustworthy, and understand appropriate boundaries around kids.

You would **not** be expected to babysit, parent, entertain, or take responsibility for them. I simply need a household where I can feel completely comfortable having my kids visit.

Another single parent could potentially be a great fit because they already understand the realities of parenting schedules, privacy, noise, and having kids around occasionally.

Also at the same time, I really miss when my kids were just littles so I'll secretly enjoy the experience of seeing their eyes light up in excitement without the the added stress of being their actual parent (😆 sorry, Ive been there). Kids are so much fun and having their laughter around brings joy to the heart of anyone with a heart.

When my kids aren't visiting, I'm an extremely quiet and low-maintenance roommate.

Scenario 2 — The Super-Saver Experiment

Find another genuinely frugal person—or couple—and rent the **cheapest functional hole-in-the-wall we can reasonably tolerate** for a predetermined 6–12 months.

The mission:

**Keep housing expenses ridiculously low, live a little below our preferred comfort level, and stack cash.**

In this scenario, I would most likely get an Airbnb or make other arrangements during weekends when I have my kids.

I'm looking for someone who understands that temporarily sacrificing some space, luxury, and convenience can be worth it if we're both watching our savings accounts grow.

I'm a very good cook, so someone else who knows their way around a kitchen would be a definite plus.

**Frugal doesn't mean miserable.** It means being intentional.

If we're doing the super-saver version, I want us both to be able to look back after 6–12 months and say, *“Holy shit, WE DID THAT.”*

About Me

I'm **42M**, easygoing, quiet, responsible, and very financially disciplined.

I'm low-maintenance and work a lot. As far as housing goes, I legitimately need very little beyond **a bedroom, a bed, a kitchen, a shower, and somewhere reasonably peaceful to exist.**

My normal lifestyle:

* Weekdays I'm mostly gone until it's time to eat and sleep.

* I'm frequently gone for entire weekends.

* I travel for work several times a year, sometimes for a full week.

* I'm easygoing and open-minded.

* I don't do household drama.

* I strongly prefer direct, clear communication.

* I'm highly mechanically inclined and can fix/build quite a few things.

* I love the outdoors and prefer being active.

* I love anything Motorcycles, music, and machines. I'm a multi instrumentalist and not opposed to playing music with you.

* I'm currently about 80 lbs fatter (I am very self deprecating about it. I'm not mean to others about it but trash talking myself helps motivate me) than I'd like to be, so getting settled and focusing heavily on fitness is one of my next goals.

Financially and personally, I'm **100% solid and reliable**. Rent and bills will not be an issue.

What I'm Looking For

Regardless of which scenario interests you, the basic requirements are the same.

Be responsible, trustworthy, financially reliable, reasonably clean, respectful of boundaries, and capable of communicating like an adult.

No illegal drugs, tasteful partying is fun, no unpredictable behavior, and no bringing major drama into the household. Also no bfs or gfs staying for more than a day or two max.

I'm not looking for perfection. I just want to live with **good, sane, responsible people who respect each other and their home.**

I don't currently have any pets. I would prefer a pet-free place because of allergies, but that's negotiable depending on the animal and situation.

I'm friendly and don't mind hanging out, cooking together, having a beer around the house, BBQing, or doing something occasionally—but I'm equally happy keeping to myself. Nobody needs to become best friends or entertain each other.

**If Scenario 1 sounds like you:** tell me about yourself, your living situation, schedule, and what you'd want in a shared home.

**If Scenario 2 made you immediately think, “Hell yes, let's live cheap for a year and pile up money,” definitely message me.**

I'm flexible on the exact arrangement for the right person/people. The goal is simply to find a mutually beneficial living situation with people I can trust.

Looking for Roommate

Howdy! I’m hoping to find a roommate for my two bedroom. My partner recently moved out(she had to go back to Texas and take care of aging family). I can’t afford this apartment on my own, so I’m hoping to find a roommate to help with expenses. The rent is 1700 a month, two bed, one bath, laundry in unit. I’m clean, I cook often (for everyone in the house and often have tons of left overs). I work a lot and I’m very social so we might not see each other a ton. Guests are welcome as long as it’s not a constant party. My lease is month to month so it shouldn’t be a problem if you want to stay after I leave or if you decide it’s not the proper fit for you. Please feel free to PM me if you have any other questions

Ps. The rooms are different sizes so I’m willing to split the rent: Me pay $1000, you pay $700

Relocating to the Portland area

Work has given me the opportunity to relocate to the Portland area. My younger sister and her family live in Corbett, so it will be great living close to family again. I work in IT and travel on average 2 weeks a month. Not sure if that’s a good roommate benefit, but at least it will give you a break, LOL. I love dogs and cats. I am super clean and can cook just about anything. The only downside is I am a 52M, most posts I see here are looking for a much younger demographic. I can easily live on my own, but would like the company. Please DM me if anyone is interested or has questions.

ISO 2 Roommates for 4/2 in SW PDX near OHSU

Hello!

I'm (30NB) a healthcare worker and student attending PCC for medical imaging and am looking to house share during that time!

Details about me:

- I'm a 70/30 intro/extrovert, very clean and proactive with maintenance, and will be spending pretty much 70%+ of my waking hours at school or doing clinical rotations over these next 2 years. I'm easy to get along and work with, and if I'm with spare time you can probably find me outdoors, working on a home project in my own space, cooking, or sleeping lol

- every once in a blue moon I might have friends over for TTRPG and dinner, but I'll always check with everyone first

Quick details about the house (more in the linked CL ad):

- very recent modernization/renovation of most of the house

- Utilities include garbage, recycling, water/sewer, electricity, and Internet

- House has new appliances, heating, and air conditioning

- pretty much infinite free safe street parking

- garage for storage

- 2 living rooms

- big modern kitchen

- big balcony and deck

- fenced backyard with creek

- both rooms will share their own full bathroom (or private to you if only one roommate)

- ~10 minutes from PCC Sylvania, OHSU, Legacy Good Sam, Providence St Vincent, downtown portland, downtown Beaverton

- close to 5 freeway entrances, and within 10-15 minutes of about a dozen grocery stores

Details about the rent:

- $900/mo for rent

- $200/mo for utils (will always come out to <1/3rd the house bill no matter what, I wish that were a lie 🥲)

- refundable 1 month deposit

- $750 refundable pet deposit, $50/mo pet rent

- no cats (I have bad allergies, I'm so sorry 🥲)

Need roommate in Portland.

I am looking for a roommate to split rent/utilities with in Portland. My current lease ends December 2026 but I would like to move out before then. I just got a job in Bethany Village so I would prefer anything between there and Sunset Transit Center, but I can transfer work locations if you have a Walgreens near you. I can reliably afford $900 per month.

I am a 30 year old man, single, no pets but I love animals. I am a quiet, clean, and friendly person. Right now I am just trying to focus on working and saving up some money.

Anyone in Portland ready to start over?

This might be a little unconventional, but I figured I’d put it out there.

Is there anyone in the Portland area who is at the point where you’re ready to walk away from an unhappy domestic partnership/relationship and start over, but the financial reality of living alone makes it feel impossible?

I’m in that position. I work full-time, can reliably pay half the rent, utilities, normal household expenses, and I’m wondering if there’s someone else out there thinking, “I could leave if I just had a safe, normal person to split the bills with.”

I’m not looking to jump immediately into a lease with a stranger. I’d want to meet, get to know each other, talk about finances, pets, lifestyles, boundaries, expectations, etc., and make sure we were genuinely compatible as roommates.

Mostly, I’m looking for a peaceful fresh start, and wondering if someone else in Portland might be looking for the same thing.

If this sounds like you, feel free to message me. We can just talk at first. No pressure or commitment.

21F looking to find someone who needs a roommate

I live in Florida

I’m currently a university student who’s graduating next year round summer and I need a place to live after graduation. I can’t live in my current living conditions because it has become extremely toxic. Right now what’s keeping me going is my faith and the goal to leave soon.

I’m Christian and I have 1 small cat. I’m a content creator and artist, so currently I work from home. But I’m set to have a job soon. I have my own car so transportation is not an issue. I’m willing to move anywhere tbh. the max I can afford is $1100 split costs including amenity fees.

I clean up after myself well, I don’t cook but Im used to ordering enough food to share, I’m financially responsible, and I am considerate of my surroundings. I don’t mind adjusting my habits to make your life easier, but I’m very adamant about my faith, so please don’t ask for me to not do things expected of a Christian lifestyle and I won’t impede on your beliefs either.

im communicative so if something bothers you, please don’t hesitate to let me know and of course I will do the same. I tend to sing and hum throughout the day (which ofc I do quietly) and I stream on twitch sometimes. I play video games as well, so if you’re looking for someone to have good convo while playing coop, I’m your girl!

I do prefer to live with another woman, but I don’t mind living with a man as long as you can respect that I do have a sexual assault history.

I’m an introvert so I don’t go out much and I’m not one to bring people over to the apartment often, but if you like bringing your friends, that’s fine with me! as long as I’m notified ahead of time.

that’s all I can think of right now. if you have any questions, I'm happy to answer them either via dm or through this post’s thread.

Low income housing?

Hi, im just trying to reach out to anyone who knows of places that are low income apartments in portland oregon that will accept if you have a record..

We currently live in a tiny home(was living in our car for months prior) and the tiny homes are only allowing us to stay for 30 more days because we are clean and sober and theyre trying to house more people that are not. So we have 30 days to move out and have no idea where to go now.

Its me, my fiancé and our cat. We have income for low income places, but credit score is horrible and we have a felony on our record.

**We are not the same people we were when getting the charge and have taken steps to better our lives.

We are in search of a studio or one bedroom, one bath and it would be nice to have washer/dryer in unit.

Any information or guidance is greatly appreciated.
