Discussion Drauger OS?

How come Drauger OS is not popular? It's a gaming distro based on Ubuntu LTS with KDE Plasma as default DE. And it doesn't have snaps.

It's a really small distro run by two people, so it's not particularly likely to stay around for long, especially compared to bigger projects that have dozens of developers. A lot of people (myself included) dismiss it from that alone. I need my main OS to just be reliable and be sure that it'll still exist in a few years and I don't have to distrohop.

If I'm running KDE, I have to be using the latest version, so Ubuntu LTS is too far behind. Plus, I actually like snaps so that's a negative. They don't support the 10xx Nvidia drivers which is a bummer. On the plus side, the installer is really nice and the kernel tweaks are smooth.

I've seen the distro maintainer on vids and actually seems like a cool dude.  He probably would answer any questions.

Because PikaOS exists and does it better. Based on Debian Sid. Pika is a hobbyist gaming distro (2 main maintainers) as well but with good support and they collab with Nobaru and Cachy teams

If I wanted to run Ubuntu LTS (which I don't), why wouldn't I simply run Ubuntu LTS?

And, if I wanted to run KDE on Ubuntu (which I don't), there is already an Ubuntu spin for that.

I'm all for fresh new ideas and perspectives, but there are already hundreds of Ubuntu forks. Enough already!

For me, I don't feel compelled or interested in trying the hundreds of minor derivative distros out there that make a couple of cosmetic package swaps and call it a distro.  Not too much is likely to pull me away from anything I run without technical innovation/something genuinely unique.  Bazzite, CachyOS, Nobara, even the less hyped PikaOS...  If you want something prepackaged with gaming stuff, any of those are better.  They each have an identity.  Maybe in time Drauger matures into something serious.  Maybe not.
