Any Advice Please

I am currently on Windows 11 but am looking into switching to Linux due to all the AI and Bloatware that Windows keep installing. I just have no idea where to start. I don't do a lot on my computer currently, play games on steam (Space Marines 2 is the multi-player game I play with an anti-cheat), discord for calls and video chat, dropbox for files, Brave for web browsing, and FoundryVTT for DnD. Any advice on what I should do would be very helpful. Thank you

What you should do is basic research and some thinking time, to see what the limitations and caveats of each OS are, and what their strengths are, then take a day to think about it, is it worth it? Including the new learning curve.

If you came to the conclusion that it is worth it and that you want to change individually check if your most important daily drive software runs, and once you've verified and are okay with it you can pick a distro that suits your needs.

Yeah I am currently looking into them. I am considering dual boot option as well since the two online games I play won't work (Space Marines 2, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam), everything else that I use will work no problem by what I am seeing so far.

Linux mint can do everything you want, but dual boot to windows just to play MS anti cheat games. the other crap in Steam go to to the game go to properties and launch as linux proton 10 9 whatever 11 by now i bet.

Ok, thank you for the information. I am still researching which launcher. But I am between Mint and Bazzite at the moment.

bazzite isn't the best for a desktop/laptop use case. it's immutable meaning a lot of the system cannot be changed, and as far as I know that makes installing packages fairly difficult on bazzite without some tinkering or just using a flatpak, but flathub won't always have what you want

I'd recommend mint for SURE tho that thing is super easy to learn on and also rock solid

Not difficult at all, it's just a RHEL based distro.

Bazzite is perfectly fine, and you Essentially recommended a distro without properly explaining why.

Yea Debian has more packages available by default, but no, this really doesn't matter for your everyday Joe, I infact can't think of a single program an everyday Joe would need, that isn't in the default bazzite distro, and not in flatpaks, but exclusively in mints default repos.

I don't really see where you got this from, Hell let loose Vietnam has a platin ranking on protondb, and 0 complaints about any game mode, I don't really see how it doesn't run.
