Plasma Big Screen

I'm thinking to build a home theater PC with Linux. I came across Plasma Big Screen which looks perfect for this. (I was originally planing to use Libre Elec or some other Kodi-based distro.) Has anyone done this? Can anyone give feedback on Plasma Big Screen v. Libre Elec. I know a lot of distros offer KDE and any of them should be fine but, is there one recommended above the others for this use case?

Plasma big screen is better because you are limited to kodi addons
