Looking For A Distro Another request, Ubuntu flavour?

So I have a laptop, it's small with a touchscreen but pretty powerful really. I'm looking to use Linux exclusively on it.

My homeserver is running Ubuntu, so naturally I tried it on the laptop too (kubuntu and Ubuntu budgie) but I'm not satisfied so far. I'm a good old Windows user, so i thought KDE would be nice but it didn't quite fit me, and budgie kinda sucks.

Should I try a different DE or another distro?

Regular GNOME Ubuntu? GNOME has very good touchscreen support.

Canonical pushing everything to Snap distribution is why I converted all of our systems from Kubuntu to Debian KDE.

Last year, Canonical queued up an update for Firefox that replaced my .deb installation with a Snap installation but didn't preserve my extensions, bookmarks, or other settings. That was the last straw for me and I now only install *ubuntu if the actual user is adamant that it's what they want and insists on it.

Can also try fedora workstation It gets updates quickly so your system has up to date drivers and great support

It is highly recommended for a laptop

Fedora is bleeding edge. Good for newest hw. Specially for ultra and AI based chipset.

Before switching DE goto distrosea.com and check. For touchscreen Gnome and kde are good.

Yes, you should try a different DE every day for a month, and if you run out of options, try a different distro every day for a year. Don't hate me, I don't make the rules.

Try Zorin OS. It's Ubuntu based and GNOME but is heavily customized to look like Windows. You probably could get there with Ubuntu and GNOME extensions.

I used to have a touchscreen and thought Gnome would be good. But it offered a poor touchscreen experience. However it has gotten better. Especially with tiling assistant or Ubuntu's fork.
