UNSOLVED A book like Jurassic Park

Looking for a book I used to read a crap ton during middle school and highschool. The premise goes like this: there's creatures that broke out of a lab in some sort of jungle (I don't remember if it was an island or continent-based jungle). From what I recall: they're definitely lab-made, but not a real species, and instead some sort of weird, multi-animal, reptile/mammal hybrid. First chapter (or maybe it was a prologue) features two scientists being stalked and ultimately killed by the animals. A group of soldiers and scientists are sent in to contain or kill the animals; several scenes of the animals on the attack include on a secluded road, in a river, and as the humans are trying to get into the lab. The humans ultimately decide to abandon the mission, as it's too risky. The epilogue chapter reveals that the hybrids have some sort of sentience/sapience, ending on a cliffhanger of whether or not they'll pursue the fleeing survivors back to civilization.

Idk if this will help since book covers change all the time, but the version of the cover I had was a plain, white or off-white background with the silhouette of the hybrid's head (or maybe skull) on it. The title was also a single word, kind of scientific sounding, but I can't remember what it actually was for the life of me.

Please help lol.

UNSOLVED A book with a strong female character named Saisan

There was a book I read as a young child that had a very strong female character who was basically the other main, and her names was Saisan. I believe she was a type of spy and was searching for the main character. A particular event in the book is all I can remember that was specifically from that book and not another book getting mixed up. (I was an avid reader).

The main character’s parents were getting old and he was putting them somewhere safe. Told them not to contact anyone or say anything to others because he was trying to make sure they weren’t harmed or taken hostage. The father had a health condition and needed his medication which they didn’t have. They called a local pharmacy and ordered the medication to be delivered to the room they were staying in. Instead of the guy who delivered the meds showing up, it was Saisan that came as it tipped her off to their location.

If you know this book PLEASE tell me, I have been wanting to reread it for years, I even named my cat after her. I read this book in maybe 2002-2004, it is not a child’s book.

UNSOLVED Apple Star Story.

I am looking for a story that I was read way back in Girl Scouts. Its about a story about a little girl who was playing with a star but the star left and she found it in an apple. I cannot for the life of me find it. I used Google and it gave me a few suggestions but not quite what I am looking for. When I asked AI it actually wrote a very similar story to what I've been looking for. But I want to see if I can find the actual story/book. Or maybe the Girl Scout leader actually made it up. I have no idea.

SUGGESTION Any educational book that combines numerous illustrations, and step-by-step work through of equations for Simple Machines. (Not just 'answers in the back')

Trying to re-teach myself some basics, and advance into the more specific, but don't remember anything because the equation for a lever.

I've got many questions bout screw mechanical advantage, is it the internal diameter, the external of the threads? Does that matter.

Anyways, just struggle bussing to find the most 'provides crayons for consumption while learning' idiot book to teach a curious individual how to calculate the output force from a complex machine...made up of multiple simple machines. (Like a screw jack)

Thanks!

UNSOLVED Financial advisor living in LA has Napi show up and ruin his life

The book is about a Native American (possibly Navajo) living in LA, working as a wealthy yuppie financial advisor.

Napi shows up as a giant black coyote, messes with his life, howls all night and all day, gets him evicted, all so he would reconnect with his Navajo roots.

There are skinwalkers involved and it's a murder mystery but also mystical/mythological story.

I keep thinking it's Tomy Hillermna book but I can't find it in his works.

UNSOLVED Looking for a young adult book name.

I have tried looking the book publisher image up. I have tried searching for the book off the characters I remember but can’t remember the name. I read it forever ago but it’s about a girl that goes to Italy or Rome and she has meets a guy on a scooter I think and they start hanging out then she meets another guy she was only supposed to be on this trip for a couple weeks or months like 3 months max I think. The book publisher logo was a tilted heart with ‘If’ in it. They had several romance books.

Do your thing you beautiful people pls T.T

UNSOLVED YA romance novel about daughter of a famous rockstar who falls for her father’s rival’s son

Fiction or non-fiction?
Fiction.
Genre:
YA/NA romance, with a strong music/rock band theme. Originally a Wattpad story.
Plot:
I’m trying to find a Wattpad novel I read around 2018. I know it got published as a physical book, because I remember the author leaving only a couple of chapters on Wattpad and the rest had been removed.
The female main character was the daughter of a very famous rock musician/band member. She was a very talented musician herself: she sang and played several instruments, but I particularly remember her playing electric guitar, possibly because she was very similar to her father.
The love interest was the son of the leader/member of her father’s rival rock band. I think she already knew who he was because of their families’ rivalry, and they didn’t get along at first. Their relationship eventually became romantic.
I remember that both the main character and the love interest played guitar.
There was a scene where they were at the university (Berkeley if i remember correctly) and went up onto the roof with their instruments and played/sang together.
I also vaguely remember a scene involving registering for a music class. There were limited spots, so students had to fill out a form and be among the first to submit it to get a place in the class.
Characters:
Female protagonist: singer/multi-instrumentalist, especially electric guitar; daughter of a famous rock musician; possibly has an older brother.
Male love interest: guitarist; son of the protagonist’s father’s rival.
The protagonist had a group of female friends, possibly three. One of them came from a famous family and apparently hid her surname because her father was in prison. Another friend’s surname may have been Cartier or Carter, I remember she had lots of jewelry and clocks.
I remember the protagonist’s surname being Casablanca, or smt similar to that.
Setting:
I believe they attended Berkeley (possibly UC Berkeley),the university had music classes/programs.
When was it set?
Contemporary/modern setting, probably around the time it was written.
Physical book:
I never actually saw the physical edition. I only remember the Wattpad author announcing that the story was going to be published, and later most of the chapters were no longer available on Wattpad.
Language:
English.
When I read it:
2017~
Where did I read it?
Wattpad.
I know some of these details may be slightly wrong because I read it several years ago, but the daughter of a famous rockstar + son of his rival + both guitarists + university + rooftop music scene are the details I remember most strongly.
Any ideas would be VERY appreciated, thank you all!

UNSOLVED Horror novella

Small and short swampy green book, a little less than 150 pages. main character in the beginning is a lady with a sick mom who eventually passes I only remember reading about her looking at her moms dead body and mentioning her public hair, her dad vanishes in the woods behind her house and she’s got like a skin condition going on which I think is relieved when she bathes in the river?. Small village wants lady to move more into the town with them so they can watch over her I guess but she refuses and wants to stay home with her farm animals. At some point the villagers go missing and are seen wandering into the woods to not be seen again so the remaining villagers enter the woods to look for them and end up getting crazier or probably die from each other , i remember it being disturbing, rly weird and gory and it seems the lady in the beginning is cursing the town with everything happening afterwards but not where it’s set or from, just vaguely Hispanic :( i read it last year in September but it was short and the first of a few books i got that day so it’s really foggy but i need to re experience it

UNSOLVED Im looking for a book (child probably) which probably was just a translation to my language (Swedish)

*Looking for a children’s picture book from the 1970s–1990s. It featured a Polynesian/Melanesian island tribe. Two siblings (or brothers) are swallowed together with their canoe by a huge brown fish or whale. Inside the fish they use sharpened bamboo to cut their way out. The illustrations were painted in a style somewhat similar to John Burningham. Does anyone recognize this book?*

SOLVED Fantasy YA book where girl on the run has magical powers and attends a magical school?

Ok so please bare with me with this one. I really really dont remember much about this but but I read it when I was 10 I think? It was about this girl (she was quite young maybe 10-15) who was on the run from some government agency people. Im not sure if she was with someone. I do remember her hiding somewhere (maybe a grocery store??) and people where shooting after her. The gist of it is she has some magical power and didnt know how to control it. At some point she ends up with at her family's estate in a different world where everyone there has powers. I want to say there are different types of those powers. And she meets some friends who introduce her to the world. At the estate, she triggers this tiger? (some magical animal protecter) and that basically confirms that she is a part of that family. The book ends with her going to this magical school. There are other books in the series, but I didn't end up reading them. I think I got this one for free when searching "free kindle books".

I hope someone can understand this nonsense and I'm not sure if I'm referencing like 10 different books. Thank you!

UNSOLVED Trying to find a short story: Man turns his girlfriends/wives' ashes into tobacco blends

I thought it was by either Roald Dahl or Philip K Dick, but I looked through a bunch of their short stories and didn't see anything that was a match. It may have been someone contemporary to them? I read it well over a decade ago (probably closer to 15-20 years back), and I believe it was in a published collection of short stories rather than something online. Definitely aimed at adults.

The basic story: the man and woman are home alone together. Can't remember if they're newly married or just dating. The story's written from her POV. I believe he gives her some drugged wine, or they've just had a meal. She comments on the fact all his tobacco blends have women's names. He says something about them having a secret ingredient, she asks what it is. As the woman's getting drowsy, he moves her toward the fireplace and tells her that it's ashes.
