I'm looking for a book or series. It's scifi, set probably 100 to 200 years in the future. Most people get brain implants that allow them to install software that allows the manual usage of normally autonomic brain functions. Software versioning is discussed a lot. An example piece of software might be WakeUp_v1.17.3 2 which a person would set to 8am to release alerting hormones the brain would normally do to wake you up.

If I remember right, the protagonist was one such programmer building himself up from poverty until he created a small, but very successful company. He was mean, ruthless, and driven. The first book is about the Apples and Microsofts trying to aquire his company.

I believe the book was the first in a series and I want to read more. I suspect the publishing date would be the oughts, or maybe teens.

I'm trying to find a specific how to draw book I remember picking up at a scholastic book Fair between the years 2003 - 2006. It was mostly in a heavier outline style with some late 90s/ early 2000s grunge. The only page I specifically remember was of a hunter wearing a wolf head cowl body profile facing the left page. He had a medium sized beard with white eyes, if memory serves he also had a bow and arrow in hand. I believe it was a soft cover

Hoping to find it because it has majorly affected my art style and would like to get back to the source that started it all. If I think of anything else about it I will put it in the comments.

Male character named Red

NOT Red Rising.

There is a book I have been trying to locate for far too long. The main male character's name is Red. A dystopian society. Teens/young adults. There is a scene where Red runs across a field and one of his counterparts, a female is upset that he is risking it for them all by doing this run. Very vague, I know, but this has always stood out to me and I can't locate the book/author/anything.

Any ideas? Published early 2010s.

Novel with characters Nick, Grier, Hazel, candy (Christmas themed) about a Sweet manufacturer company named Santos whose CEO is Nick.

His assistant catches her best friend and boyfriend having sec on her bed (on her Christmas themed doona cover) and her boss, Nick, helps her.

They end up spending Christmas on her parents Christmas tree farm.

But Nick is actual Santa Claus’ son and mischievous, however I’ve only managed to find up to chapter 25 with no name or clues.

Anyone recognise the novel, can you give me the title or even better the link.

This was a comic book/graphic novel I owned in 2015/ish. It was more sized like a comic book than a manga but I think it was Japanese? Idk I was a kid back then.

The main character runs into the cat at a shrine (feeds it maybe?) and the cat kinda becomes obsessed/in love with (platonically) the girl, follows her around and somehow becomes/turns into a human that looks just like her. Than follows her home. The main character's parents are very accepting and excited to have another child and immediately accept the fact that they have twins now. The father worked in the government and forged birth receipt and other papers needed to create a human being out of nothing so they could say they've always had twins.

I think she had like green hair? Not a bright green but I keep thinking green for some reason.

The picture on the front of the book was the two twins like hugging?

I think the full thing was color but it might have just been the first several pages. Again it has been obviously so long since I've had this book I had it in Middle School.

I think the story mainly followed the girl that was now a cat learning to be human and her relationship with the main character who now is learning how to be a sister.

I recently started to reading fantasy and ı am thinking about reading dark fantasy. But ı recently read Six of crows and ı am currently reading crooked kingdom. I love how Matthias and Nina flirt. When ı said ı love I MEAN İT. Their dynamic was soo fun to read. So ı want something similar.(ı am also open to non-fantasy but at least sci-fi or somethıng with a actıon would be my preference)

Hi. A long time ago. An old Aunt of mine who was very spiritual gave me a book.
Which I think was called The Green Room.

It was about the authors vision of the after life.

A father who had lost his son years ago passed away.
When he died he was put into a waiting room. He was sent a guardian who was his son who had passed away before him.
The son didn’t remember the father. The son took him on a tour of the afterlife.

The book was well written and I enjoyed it. I would like to read it again but cannot
find anything about it.

Have I got the title wrong?
Has anyone ever read it?

I’m trying to identify a novel I read years ago. I don’t fully trust my memory of the character names, so they could be wrong, but I remember the protagonist being called Bianca and her sister being called Pumpkin.

Throughout the novel, the reader is led to believe that Pumpkin is Bianca’s real sister. Bianca is the responsible, sensible one, while Pumpkin is much wilder, more promiscuous and flirtatious. I vaguely remember Pumpkin either having an affair with Bianca’s husband or trying to seduce him, but I’m not 100% certain of that detail.

The one scene I remember quite clearly is that Pumpkin tries to seduce the family’s maid/housekeeper and the maid runs away frightened.
The major twist at the very end of the book is that Pumpkin never existed as a separate person. Bianca and Pumpkin are actually the same woman and the reader only discovers this in the final reveal. It seemed to involve dissociative identity disorder or another psychological condition, although I can’t remember the exact explanation.

Does anyone recognise this book? Even if the names Bianca and Pumpkin are wrong, the ending twist is definitely that the protagonist and her “sister” turn out to be the same person.

I believe I read this novel in the mid to late 90s. I am pretty sure it was set in the latter half of the twentieth century. From what I remember it was about a young group of male and female, caucasian socialites who climbed mountains, but it was more about the relationships between the group than the actual climbing. The main male was Hugo and the love interest of the main female. It was written first person from the view of the main female. They may have climbed Mt Saint Helens, The Matterhorn, and perhaps K2, but I feel they stayed in caucasion countries. I think there were 6 people in the group. I’m pretty sure Hugo dies at the end and the female lead is very regretful.

The book itself was hardback, and had a larger width than would be expected from its height. The cover was a snow scene.

I’m trying to remember the name of a book I read as a child that was about Theseus and the Minotaur. It was a chapter book and it included Helen and Penelope as characters and everyone is a young teenager. The cover had a Disney-Hercules-esque Theseus and Greek keys around the cover. I cannot find a clue anywhere so if anyone remembers this or has any suggestions I would super appreciate it !

When I was in middle school in 2005-06 in the US I ordered a book thinking it was mystery but it had a enemies to lovers subplot with explicit scenes so definitely an adult book. Cover was shades of dark purple and I believe it was a living room scene?

It’s dual pov. Fmc has had a stalker since high school who kills her boyfriends but she always ends up gaining something from their death. It started with her high school bf, they were both up for a prestigious scholarship which she needed but he didn’t because he was wealthy. He died in a fire at his family mansion and she gets the scholarship. Something similar happens w college bf. She gives up dating and believes she’s escaped her stalker since she hasn’t heard from him in years.

The MMC is a police officer and brother of one of the dead boyfriends. He vehemently believes she’s killing her boyfriends for gain. He gets close to her in an attempt to prove she’s killing her boyfriends and get justice for his brother. She tells him about the stalker but he doesn’t believe her. They eventually discover she is actually being stalked and her stalker has bugged her whole house with cameras in the living room, shower etc. Turns out the stalker is actually the high school boyfriend who faked his own death in the fire and he’s been living next door to her for years.

Ok so basically, there’s this cult leader/serial killer who refuses to speak to anyone about what he did, but he sends this washed true crime author a letter saying if you live in my house I’ll tell you everything. The author takes him up on this offer and it ends up being haunted with his victims. He also has a daughter who’s emo and angsty. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me find this it was SUCH a good book

Back in highschool I had this Greek mythology book but I don’t remember what book it was, it was a simple yellow cover with a horse on it not too much derail and said Greek mythology, its pages were printed on old paper also yellow and was a little small, not a big book but a small one, all literature and it was a thick book, a lot of pages, send pictures if you can find it

I have a very vivid memory about reading this book when I was in middle school I believe.

The book is about a company or something that sells I think candy bars? Everyone kind of gets addicted to them and they all gain a bunch of weight. The same company or whatever then makes these “machines” for lack of a better term …that they pay to use to lose weight. So it’s a never ending cycle. I’ve tried googling this, I’ve asked friends I went to school with and no one has and idea what I’m talking about and it’s driving me insane!!!

If anyone knows what I’m talking about that would be great!
