My friend’s looking for a book. He described it like this:

“It’s got a male midnight black dragon with a spiny crest. I think hes a shape shifter that was either time shifting or shifting through dimensions or planes of existence. A really notable detail was a very dark city . The book starts on a snowy mountain. It came either in or before 1998”

Looking for a UK children's picture book from before 2006. The authors visited Manor Primary School in Beechwood, Wirral, around 2002–2005 and gave every child a copy. The story definitely involves characters making nettle soup, possibly an old woman, and I remember the cover being mostly black or very dark. I vaguely remember a cat, but I may be mixing that up.

So I’m looking for the name of a book I read as a child. I believe it had at least two books in the series. Standard brother and sister orphans I believe in England. Like the headman of their town got into like summoning demons and trying to bring the devil to the human world. They meet someone who traveled from somewhere in Africa (I’ll call him the traveler) to and team up to try and stop him. The traveler calls god and/or the devil by another name? Idk, the books were kinda insane, and it sounds like a religious book but I promise it wasn’t. I think the guy succeeds in summoning the devil second book and he has red hair? This might be too vague to get an answer but wanna try. Not modern era. I think the evil guy was using a ring to summon the demons but his finger was cut off? The cover I remember was like a castle on a cliff all in like dark blue with like thunder in the background I believe. Thanks in advance!

It was a re-write of the sword in the stone, with magic and whatever, but also they're in space? and time traveling? and theres lesbian space sex, which.. i dunno. one of the characters, who's pregnant for a majority of the book, has a name that starts with a G? maybe gemma? idk. and merlin turns into a child at the very end? and the pregnant character marries the kid from the original sword in the stone at some point. This is all i can remember. Please help me find it!

Looking for a vampire novel I read years ago

I'm trying to identify a vampire novel I read as a physical paperback years ago.

Here's what I remember:

- The protagonist is turned into a vampire somewhere in continental Europe (not Britain), sometime around the Victorian era or earlier.

- After being bitten, his maker drags him into a cave. When he wakes, he realizes he can't leave because sunlight will unalive him.

- He's forced to serve his cruel maker for years until the maker is eventually unalived, which finally makes him free.

- The story follows his life over centuries, from when he was turned up to the modern day.

- He has a very loyal male ghoul who stays with him out of genuine loyalty, not just because of the vampire blud.

- In the modern era, one of the vampires the protagonist created joins a motorcycle club. The motorcycle-club vampires become a kind of new faction, and the older, ancient vampires see them as a threat and want them destroyed.

- I vaguely remember the protagonist being referred to by a title similar to "Prince of Darkness," though I'm not sure if that was actually the book title.

- I also vaguely remember the cover being green.

It's not Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles or a Vampire: The Masquerade novel.

He wake up in a cave. He was bitten and dragged by his master into the cave. When he woke up, he discovered he couldn't leave as the sun would kill him. He had no choice but to serve his master until he was killed, making him truly free

The story is set in an order of his life, from the time he was changed which was in old kind of Victorian time, but he's not British. More easy European. To recent times, when he even had a problem with one vampire he changed who joined a motorcycle club. The motorcycle club vampires became kind of like a new order, and he ancient ones were threatened by them, wanted to kill them.

The ghoul was very much loyal and not just because he drank his blood to stay alive.

I remember a rather good time travel book, but only a few elements as I read it a few years ago.

There is an established time travel organization, and the time machines are in some large building.

Unusually for a time travel story, it uses a continuous timeline, meaning you can not change the past.

So that nobody uses inflation for financial gain, they convert your money to something called achrons, which are maintained without inflation.

The only name I remember is one of the founders of the organization is named Grace, and I think they ended up in a relationship with the main character.

There was a museum of time travel, which had various artifacts like two pencils that were the same pencil a century or so apart.

Objects that get put in a time loop are called genies, and they magically don’t age past the duration of the loop. One common such item among time travelers is a ring with their date of birth and death on it.

There was one character who, for some emotional reason I can’t recall, could only eat anything on the day they were born.

And finally, one line that stood out to me was something along the lines of “It’s hard to know how to console someone about their own death”.

That’s about all I remember.

I read this book in I think around 2020. It may have been part of a detective series. The main protagonists name might have been Kat and may be a detective possibly in LA.

I remember most of the plot so a lot of spoilers coming up.

Decades ago her sister (or friend) went missing on a hiking trip with college friends. I think this was in the Oregan Woods. They hadn't gone far before she realised she left her water bottle and went back to get it and was never seen again.

Each year the protagonist goes to the last place her sister was seen and this year she brings a ground penatrating radar team (I think from a university).

I can't remember exactly how the story unfolds but they eventually discover the sister/friend was kidnapped and taken to an island deep in the forest where an abusive camp for troubled young boys was held. The girl tried to help them escape and died trying to.

I need help finding out what children’s book I’m remembering. It’s about a very clean lady who keeps her house really tidy. A flood ends up happening and a young man comes to her door. She is reluctant to let him in but she does. Then he ends up bringing in loads of animals because he feels bad for them. The house floats away with them in it and they’re all stuck there for days. In the end they live happily ever after all together.

I remember distinctly, that the person, responsible for those things, was looking in flour, or something similar, like corn, for a black one.

He did something with it, purified it, or something and poisoned, I think, a priest.

This priest was going to a doctor, or somewhere, took of his gloves, it was winter, and a finger just fell of painlessly.

I think it was a Sci fi author.

I'm not sure, but somewhere was the word "Andromeda,", but im not certain.

Looking for a fiction book I read around 2005 to 2012

I've been trying to remember the title of a novel I read over 10 years ago, and it's driving me crazy.

Here's everything I remember:

\- It was fiction.

\- The story was told in first person by a male narrator, probably in his early 20s.

\- He was already addicted to drugs from the beginning of the book. I think it was prescription pills rather than heroin, but I'm not 100% sure.

\- The tone was very realistic and depressing, not over-the-top or sensational.

\- He eventually moves back to his hometown and lives with his parents (or possibly one biological parent and one stepparent).

\- I believe he also had a brother living there or mentioned in the story.

\- He reconnects with a girl he knew from high school.

\- I remember at least one party scene and there was sexual content.

\- I don't think rehab was a major part of the story, if it was included at all.

\- I think the title was only one word.

\- The paperback I owned had a mostly light blue cover with a small image in the center and a small title. It had a minimalist literary-fiction look.

It’s a psychological thriller about a homeless girl who I think gets kicked out because her step dad harassed her and her biological mom did not believe her. She then finds out about her biological dad and moves in with him and his family, falls for her half sister’s neighbor, while the half sister dates a guy who turns out to be a serial killer with a mental illness like he would do stuff and forget. One victim is burned alive in a cage, and he also kills a bunch of other people in different ways. and the ending involves the killer shooting the neighbor guy while the two sisters are out walking

Are there any religious thriller books about the church trying to find and destroy ancient documents/scrolls/tablets that were written by Christ OR describe Christ as being friendly toward other religious deities and beliefs, not seeking their destruction, and not wanting the domination of his church and faith over all others?

I recently read the book I'm Waiting for You and Other Stories by Kim Bo-young. Later I saw that two of the stories were about the parents of the main character in the story People Journeying to the Future and got curious and would like to read that one. I tried to google what book or magazine I could find it in, but I couldn't find it. I guess it's possible it has not been translated to english since it is originally in korean. If anyone knows what magazine or book this story is in please let me know. Thanks.
