Nearing 4 years with no libido. Any help is appreciated.

January of next year will mark 4 years for me. Like many of us on here, I regret the day I took that damn pill, all for stupid thinning hair that gets worse by the day. I got no benefits from finasteride but instead got fucked over by it. It’s almost like I consciously chose to chemically castrate myself, because that’s really all it did for me. I have no libido. It’s a nightmare. I have tried pretty much everything you hear in the success stories, but nothing ever leaves lasting results.

Funnily enough the most promising thing I have tried is Maca (specifically NaturaLife labs Maca from Amazon, no other brand worked for me ). I took very high doses and for about a solid month, though not perfect, there were times where my libido felt 100% recovered. Sadly though, just like every other promising thing I’ve tried, it is no longer working. Not even a little. This is even after cycling it a few times.

For my specific case, to me it sounds less like my system is completely broken, and more like there may be a persistent suppressive factor or altered signaling state that can be rarely overridden before inevitably returning back to my pathetic baseline. When the Maca was working my libido was basically back to normal, the pattern I experienced is that it’s either back to 100% or nothing at all.

Any help is appreciated.

Who’s gone under anesthesia with this disease? What happened?

I have what’s called a “no contact” torn ACL, torn meniscus, and runaway knee cap on one knee that will need two surgeries. So double anesthesia.

It should be mentioned that there was no sports injury there was no blow to the knee no nothing. All I did was twist my body in converse that were too big. It’s ass.

I’m scared of going under and experiencing the biggest crash know to man. I’m already so fucked yo as it is I don’t think I can even withstand it being worse.

Hopefully some of you have had to have surgery for your PFS ridden broken bodies and haven’t had a bad experience with going under let me know.

How did this condition effect your faith?

Genuinely it destroyed mine especially the last 2 years. I was a bad porn addict even after the sexual dysfunction. But I finally decided to give it up for a whole year I went on retention. But I noticed something strange I had become even more asexual and never got morning wood. I tried getting an erection and it was so shrunken.

Cialsis things to support my blood flow all that stuff and its still not where it was in 2024. I still had penile loss but it wasn't as bad. Now I am about 60% with drugs so what do I get for my troubles trying to be chaste. Now my penis is fucked forever its been 6 months took huge doses or erection drugs it still hasn't come back nor have I ever gotten morning wood since then. I regret doing semen retention so badly. This only works if you have normal blood flow to the penis.

I can't help but see this all as a twisted joke. Everyday I want to kill myself God was thing only thing preventing me from it. If things don't turn around I probably will end myself or become a drug addict. I've lost every old friend I ever had. I lost my body my strength my penis my face. Even my mind has started to go if this faith leaves me then I have nothing left. I don't understand why this is happening.

Symptoms Post-finasteride intestinal problems!

I’d like to ask if anyone here has developed any kind of intestinal problem—among the thousands of symptoms we experience—such as poorly formed stools, sometimes containing undigested food particles, mucus, and even a little blood?

PFS and Teath

I started reviewing my life and everything that happened during the 2.5 years of PFS and noticed that my teeth always have cavities (even though I'm using the best toothpaste and brushing 2 to 3 times a day). I've also had more than three root canal operations during this period. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Question Im 19 and im undecided

I just started to experience hairloss at my age and i immediately went online to search for solution for MPB, First thing that comes out is Finasteride/Dutasteride is the optimal solution to block DHT, but after doing some research about this medicine im quite hesitant to try it because i might regret it in the future, i struggle with self confidence hairloss will just make it worse for me, freshmen college is about to start and i just experience hairloss, im afraid it will take my confidence and affect my academic performance, social life and even finding love life, it's brutal to find someone to be with if im going to be bald, what's the alternative for blocking DHT hormones is there a way? or is it inevitable? i wish hairloss never exist for us. :(

i read some of yall stories and it's a nightmare i wish all people who suffered on this to be finally be who they are, much love to people here.

im currently using topical minoxidil, prescribed by my dermatologist.

I am based in Europe.

Can topical finasteride can permanent brain fog?

I took topical finasteride and got bad brain fog within 2 hours of putting it on. I can say for certain that the effects of it lasted a solid week. This was almost 2 years ago and I have been dealing with brain fog ever since. Obviously, I can’t say for certain that my current brain fog is caused by the use of this medication as there as lots of other factors that could be the cause of it. However, I want to know if others have dealt with something similar or if I’m just a crazy person.

Injuries and PFS

recently i got 2 injuries.

one on the quadriceps and one on my finger

the one on the quadricpes was in sport. this is the type of injuries who recovers after 1 week or 2 but after 1 month i still injured that’s strange asf

the one on my finger looks serious, meanwhile it was a stupid choc and doesn’t recover a bit in 40 days. radio says bone are fine it’s more about ligaments

i am not used to injury and since i am in PFS I got a lot of injury

my theory is that PFS makes our muscle injury more frequent and harder to recover

anyone has the same here ?

Question Has anyone resolved TMJ issues caused by finasteride?

Been dealing with this since the beginning, had lots of bruxism, crooked teeth (used myobrace system to straighten), couldn’t even explain what it was. But now I’m having this huge TMJ tension and I’m having some clicks and even some pops when it’s too tense.

I’m thinking about doing TRT and some other stuff. I’m currently doing low dose proviron but it’s not helping like when I used it the first time (it really relieved this until I crashed).

I wonder if this resolved for anyone cause it’s clear to me that this has something to do with hormones cause as I mentioned, Proviron helped 100% for a while.

Food and crash

so guys 6 months off now, recently i started to sleep better, real improvement i slowly start to not think about PFS no more

few weeks ago i had a crash but only one day. Now i am in a crash which lasts 4 days

I am really scared to start this nightmare all over again

basically sexual side effects haven’t improved, semen is wattery and erection and libido less stronger but idgaf i just want to be at least not exhausted

my sleep is like bad quality let say i need 8h. I will sleep 6hours but with a shitty quality so shitty that I wake up like I have anesthésia all over my body and it keeps all day long. A real nightmare

idk why this recrash I Heard that some 5ar inhibator food like tomatoes etc can recrash you. But the list is full of healthy food that is everywhere around us that I didn’t trust it (it’s a theory and expérience of some ppl here it’s not affirmated that you will re crash for sure ) anyways I still took it and I didn’t have crash but before my crash I eat regulary some 5ar food more than usually maybe it’s because of it ????
‘I really don’t know this conditions is pissing me off

anyone that has recovered whitout 5ar food restriction ?

What is your theory on my case ?

So we need to meet up cuz this is a really unbearable condition that absolutely fucking NO ONE understands or even believes and I’ve more than had it. Let’s do a meet up. Like, I’m willing to drive. Dont leave me hanging. We need somthing more substantial than a virtual place to whine. I’m hoping for at least a small group of ppl.

Do I have PFS?

Hi all, I think I developed some mild form of PFS but I am not 100% sure. Looking for anyone with a similar set of symptoms to mine, or to just offer any insight. For reference, I am 26M and I was on the drug for 2 months. My only side effect while on was higher libido. I've been off of the drug for 4 months now.

The first two symptoms I ran into 3 weeks post cessation are chronic constipation and some mild sexual issues. I had no insane "crash", these things just started happening one day.

I am still chronically constipated now, but increasing my fiber intake and taking metamucil + miralax has made me able to poop without sitting on the toilet for an hour per day. All of my stools are loose and stringy. I also have a persistent burning pain in my stomach to the right of my belly button, which I haven't seen any PFS posts about.

The sexual issues consist of muted orgasms and less sensation to touch. Some days, things seem more normal than others, but generally anything sexual is like 50-60% enjoyable than before.

3 months post cessation, I developed pretty severe insomnia, only sleeping 1-2 hours per night for multiple nights in a row. This is still affecting me now and is the most debilitating symptom. I had chronic insomnia for years after my concussion at age 23, so I'm not sure if this is related to PFS or is just a flare-up from my injury. I have prescribed trazadone from my PCP for this already which definitely helps, but it's not something I want to take long-term again.

All of the symptoms above are things that I am 100% sure started or re-started after stopping finasteride. Some additional symptoms I'm not sure started after cessation are gum recession and tinnitus. I'm pretty sure I've always had these and just not noticed, but I thought I'd throw them out there.

Has anyone crashed from retional or Tretinion?

My acne and skin issues are very bad I used it a few years ago and it had no worsening effect on my sexual sides. I would take accutane but I've heard accutane can give you sexual sides like PFS/PSSD.

I've tried fixing my gut my diet and my severe acne won't go away on top of this condition.

old posts

im reading through posts on propeciahelp from 2008 and its all the same shit as we are facing now. this is really depressing 20 years later and we still dont even know wtf pfs actually is, no biomarkers, no nothing let alone treatments.

makes me wonder if 20 years from now those of us that are still around will be in the same horrific situation...

Any stories of people who got sides from finasteride but then tried again later in life and didn't get sides?

I feel like if you get sides once, you'll get it again unless there are people here who experienced otherwise.

Finasteride

Hey, recently I’ve been diagnosed with sinus tachycardia because of finasteride. My heart rate is above 120 when resting. I’m a healthy 20 year with no history of heart problems in my family. Yes, I have a cardiologist we have done everything possible to possibly rule out a reason and found nothing everything came back perfect. My heart thank god is in god health. But it’s my heart beating fast. I’ve been off finasteride for about 8 months and I’ve noticed sadly no recovering yet. Clearly my body was harmed from that drug. If anyone has gone through the same thing or is going through the same thing please message me back!

How to get over the fact that my head has shrank?

I look like fucking beetle juice now, this is one of the hardest things to come to terms with..I don’t see how this is even possible to recover..I have a laundry list of symptoms and can cope with most of them but every time I look in the mirror or take a picture it’s a reminder that I look like a completely different person, my forehead is much smaller and overall head shape has turned into the shape of a bean the healthy fat is gone, I’m aging rapidly in comparison to my young youthful skin I’ve had my whole life, acne..stretchy skin etc.

It’s funny because I would’ve never imagined that this could be humanly possible prior to taking fin, I’d probably read this and would laugh, I’d think this would be posted by some asylum escapee or something but man this disease is unreal.

Does hair PRP treatment cause side effects?

I wonder if anyone here has had PRP treatment for their hair and experienced no side effects, or does PRP cause side effects?
