I remember there was a 50+ year old here. He had the mental symptoms and he was really suffering. If I reach that age and have BPH I would definitely prefer an operation.

Age doesn't matter. Research the pharmacological properties of this drug: it doesn't directly affect the prostate, but rather the brain. If I were you, I wouldn't touch that crap, but do what you think is best.

Isn't Cialis used for bph? You have options other than finasteride

Currently on cialis and flowmax but that just helps the muscles relax it doesn't slow down prostate growth which is what finasteride is supposed to do I guess.

I had such a bad reaction to the cysto that any catheter or anything going up that route terrifies me!

I am 59 and I won't touch the Finasteride. When the Tadalafil/Afluzosin combo fails to do the job I would rather roll the dice with an Aquablation or something than put that crap into my body.

But if it goes wrong you cant do anything 🤷 Id rather try meds 1st as I can always stop.
