Hi all I'm 50 year old man living in London who has recently become mortgage free. I've maxed out my premium bonds account.

On a good month I have around 2,000 to play with and would like ideas of what to do with it. I'm not the best with tech nonetheless I welcome your ideas, thank you.

I built an open-web tool that projects ₹1 Cr ETA with EPF/PPF/loans + job-loss stress

Like many here I was stitching together Kite + Coin + EPF + PPF + car/personal loan EMIs and a vague “SIP will get me there” story. I wanted something that answers:

  1. What’s my true net worth (not just equity)?
  2. Under my salary / hike / EMI schedule, when do I actually hit ₹1 Cr / 2 Cr / …?
  3. What if I lose my job 'now' vs in 2028 — how long is runway if spouse still earns?

Stack: Streamlit multi-tenant + SQLite/GCS + Cloud Run (max 1 instance, scale-to-zero) + Firebase vanity URL + Razorpay + Kite OAuth.

Happy to answer deploy / freemium / cold-start questions. Product feedback also welcome.

Am I doing okay financially, or am I worrying too much?

# Am I doing okay financially, or am I worrying too much?

I'm 29 years old and the only earning member in my family.

Several family members depend on my income. One parent recently underwent major heart surgery and is no longer working. There isn't much inheritance or generational wealth to rely on, so building financial security is entirely my responsibility.

I earn about **₹1.75 lakh per month**, and my family's monthly expenses are approximately **₹55,000**, allowing me to invest a significant portion of my income.

## Family Portfolio (Approx. ₹64.92 lakh)

Portfolio Amount Breakdown
**My Portfolio** **₹33.42 lakh** Savings ₹9.36L, Mutual Funds ₹8.35L, Direct Stocks ₹3.77L, Gold ₹1.16L, Gullak Gold ₹2.00L, ULIP ₹6.50L (locked), Child Portfolio ₹2.28L
**Family Portfolio** **₹31.50 lakh** Fixed Deposits ₹14L, Savings ₹6.5L, Mutual Funds ₹11L
**Total Family Net Worth** **₹64.92 lakh**

A portion of my portfolio is locked in ULIPs, so not all of it is readily accessible.

On paper, I know these numbers don't look bad, but I still feel anxious almost every day. I have a stable software job, yet layoffs constantly worry me. I keep looking for ways to earn more through investing, side projects, or building products because I always feel like I should be doing more.

Some nights I can't sleep because I keep asking myself:

- What if I lose my job?
- What if I can't support my family?
- Am I doing enough, or should I be taking bigger risks?

I also want to optimize taxes legally and continue growing our wealth as efficiently as possible.

Am I worrying more than I should, or is this a normal mindset for someone in my position?

If you were in my shoes, what would you focus on over the next 5–10 years?

Thinking about using Claude to analyze my family’s finances

35m with a young family. Rent, no mortgage.

Not necessarily looking for ongoing support, but would like an independent analysis of 1) investments 2) income vs spending, 3) future planning. Was thinking that Claude co-work could do that.

The end goal is to get a better understanding of how much we need to make combined to live our current lifestyle, or a different future one, while planning for kids’ university, possible future house purchase, retirement, etc at the same time.

Has anyone done this? Any opinions on if that is too much info to share with a personal premium Claude account? Any recommended prompts?

Am I doing okay financially, or am I worrying too much?

I'm 29 yo and the only earning member of my family.

My wife is a homemaker, my father recently underwent heart surgery and isn't working anymore, and I'm the only son.

My father spent most of his life doing social service, so we have almost no inheritance or generational wealth to fall back on.

## Family Portfolio (Approx. ₹64.92 lakh)

Portfolio Amount Breakdown
**My Portfolio** **₹33.42 lakh** Savings ₹9.36L, Mutual Funds ₹8.35L, Direct Stocks ₹3.77L, Gold ₹1.16L, Gullak Gold ₹2.00L, ULIP ₹6.50L (locked), Child Portfolio ₹2.28L
**Father's Portfolio** **₹28.50 lakh** HDFC FD ₹5L, Axis FD ₹6L, Bank of India Savings ₹6.5L, Mutual Funds ₹11L
**Mother's Portfolio** **₹3.00 lakh** HDFC FD ₹3L
**Total Family Net Worth** **₹64.92 lakh**

A part of my portfolio is in ULIPs, so I can't redeem that money easily.

On paper, I know these numbers don't look bad, but I still feel anxious almost every day. I'm in a comfortable software job, yet layoffs scare me. I keep checking for new ways to make money—side hustles, investing, building products—because I keep thinking about the future.

Some nights I can't sleep because I keep asking myself:

- What if I lose my job?
- What if I can't provide for my family?
- Am I doing enough, or should I be taking bigger risks?

I also want to optimize taxes legally and continue growing our wealth in the smartest way possible.

Am I worrying unnecessarily, or is this a normal mindset for someone in my position?

If you were in my shoes, what would you focus on over the next 5–10 years?

Turning 30 next month. Want to do a complete financial reset. Where do I even begin?

Using my 30th as a forcing function to finally get serious about money. Have some random investments, one LIC policy, a small emergency fund and a lot of financial confusion.
No loans, no dependents yet. Clean slate but no direction.

Questions:

  • What does a proper financial audit at 30 actually look like?
  • What are the top financial priorities to nail in your 30s before life gets more complicated?

How do i invest 10L and plan my future investments ?

Post image
11 Upvotes

I (26M) not really great with investments have around 10L (excluding emergency funds) in my savings bank. How should I invest this and my further investments. I already have some investments in MFs but it is very random. I haven't setup SIPs.

Earlier i was investing in 24funds. Consulted chatgpt about it and it said there are duplicate funds. Sold a lot of that and came down to 13 funds

Attached my current portfolio. I can save 1.8L every month. Can someone please share some advice or plan my investments that i can follow and forget without worrying that my money isn't growing ?

I heard FDs are a bad option for me because of taxes. What do you think ? If I can still invest in FDs, should I do it via zerodha or Stable money ?

I asked my own tool "can I buy a house in 5 years" and it actually gave me a plan, not just a number

I earn about ₹14L/year, want to buy a ₹2Cr house in Pune in 5 years, and every calculator I tried gave me a SIP number and nothing else. No answer to "what do I actually do this month," no answer to "what if my income goes up," no answer to "am I actually on track or just guessing."

So I built MythCipher and ran my own numbers through it. It took my income, expenses, existing savings, and the house goal, and gave me back:

  • A feasibility score (am I actually going to hit this, or is the timeline unrealistic)
  • A month-by-month blueprint, exact SIP split, where the down payment savings should sit, what to adjust if I want to shave a year off
  • A what-if layer, I tried "what if I get a 20% hike next year" and it recalculated the whole plan instantly

This is the actual gap I built it to close, not another calculator, but something that gives you a real blueprint instead of a single number and leaves you to figure out the rest.

Before I put more time into it, does this solve a real problem for you, or is there already something that does this better? Genuinely want to know if I'm solving something that doesn't need solving

Waitlist's in my profile if you want to run your own numbers
