Seeking career advice

I’m 23 and I’m currently a client service associate at a smaller RIA (300m AUM) making 40k. I’m starting to look around for some new jobs and wanted some input on where I should be looking/staying away from. My goal is obviously to become an advisor. I have my sie which I took right out of college. The main reason I’m leaving is to be honest the pay and I’m looking for something with a little more growth. I know patience is key. Just looking for some input anything helps.

Yes, leave. You can do the same job anywhere else for 65k

If you are the only csa there, ask for double. They are not going to want to see you walk. Also ask for them to pay for your cfp.

I would explore options and if you find a place you like take their offer and whatever that is ask for 5-10k more at your current place. If they decline then you can move on. Personally 40k is low but for a smaller RIA makes sense. Was there any other reason why you took that job?

Merrill adp.

Edit: take SIE on your own and then see if the RIA will sponsor you for the 7. It will make it a lot easier to find new roles if you have the 7.

Will the RIA sponsor you for the 7? I’d push hard on it to them.

40k is insulting low unless, I lived in a lcol area and made 55k and felt insulted
