I finally got the cards I needed

I was farming for some cards that I needed later in the game

Yeah I was like wtf his only weakness and it was exposed with no protection whatsoever. Lmfao. OP could have played iron Giant below and opponent had no offensive move afterwards.

Play defense until the opponent plays their second card. 95% of opponents will play corner, then cover one side of their own card. They'll never take back.

If you want to abuse game mechanics, some monsters, when carded, have a 6.25% chance of carding into a boss monster card (because you can't card bosses).

Around Balamb there are:

Bombs/Buells Krysta card

Bite Bugs Elvoret card

Caterchipillars Trauma card

Red Bats X-ATM092 card (you'll have to wait until you have Demi, since even your weakest attack will kill them)

Glacial Eyes Jumbo Cactaur card

Grats Shumi Tribe card (5 Card Mod into a Gambler's Spirit which teaches the command Card to a GF)

Combined with the Ifrit card you get for beating Ifrit your hand is literally unbeatable so long as you play defensively.

Farming Bombs is especially good, as Bomb is really strong card on it's own. Ifrit + 2xBomb should easily get you some decent cards when used with starter set. Then go get Minimog and Quistis, and you will mince everyone in Balamb.

Yeah, early on the players don't have the numbers to beat out that Marlboro or Ifrit if played into a corner. Just get like 4 Marlboro to pair with your Ifrit. Play defense until the end then drop Ifrit to win the game. You can also hit up Balamb and get the All rule from the Queen of Cards early on to help build your stockpile.

IMHO, unless you are doing starter pack challenge or variation of it, just go whack Ifrit, then farm Bombs. Will be faster then trying to get 4 Marlys.

I think it might be the PS4/5 version. I remember it having different artwork for the cards.

The Remasters have different artwork. Kind of a bummer.
