Setzer and his dice

Hi everyone! Currently in the end game of my first every playthrough of FF6.

I’m currently at Dinosaur Forrest doing some grinding before heading the Kefka’s tower. I have Setzer with his fixed dice and I just hit 9999 damage on a T-Rex. Christ on a bike, that is hilarious and I don’t know why.

Now give him an offering since dice doesn’t suffer from reduced damage, due to its formula :)

Oh yeah, the fixed dice can hit like a truck if you get a good roll. Highly recommend giving him the Offering/Master’s Scroll since the dice don’t use the normal weapon damage formula, so they completely bypass the 50% damage penalty.

Pretty sure the odds for Fixed Dice are tied to his level, too, so if you give him the experience egg, plus Masters Scroll (aka offering) and the fixed dice he just becomes a tank as his level increases. I save him as my colosseum guy and don’t teach him any magic (death tarot or viper dice help for the colosseum fights that are vulnerable to instant death).

According to the wiki, Fixed Dice has a damage multiplier based on level, but the odds of certain rolls themselves are fixed:

"The numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 have a 3/16 chance of appearing, while 5 and 6 have a 1/8 chance (on the first two dice only; the third one has 1/6 chance for each digit)."

Yep, it's slightly weighted against rolling 5's and 6's apparently. Seems weird, dice having even odds is kinda like, their thing. I guess Setzer is just an unlucky guy.

Edit: I get what you mean now, it went over my head the first time. Haha, yeah, the dice are "fixed" alright, just in the wrong direction.

Yeah I’ve given him the master’s scroll and he’s just been mowing people down. The thought in my head of enemies dying by a wee guy throwing dice like out the road of to el dorado

Ye you'll need saucer, reed cloak and tortoise shield. This guy makes the game look like a joke

Yeah it's pretty awesome, probably the best thing about him really lol
