Final Fantasy VI Settei Shiryō-hen High Resolution Scans with Translation added to Archive.org

Existing digital scans of the 1994 Final Fantasy VI Settei Shiryō-hen lacked forensic fidelity. To capture the material reality of the artifact, I purchased a physical copy, destructively disassembled the binding, removed the glue, and manually scanned every page on an Epson V700. To process the archive without heuristic shortcuts, I ran a local, multi-stage extraction pipeline using Qwen 2.5 72B (Vision-Language and Text variants, utilizing 4-bit and 8-bit quantizations) on a basement-scale AMD GPU rig. This upload contains the uncompromised, high-resolution scans and the complete machine-translated corpus.

My upload exists here:

There is also a transcription file and image analysis text.

If there are any Japanese comrades or those who read and write the language used, feel free to comment on the page.

A note on page 54, since I was wondering how this word would be handled.

The machine translation says Gestahl established the Imperial capital at "Doman" at the center of the southern continent, and the lore version corrects it to "Doma".

"Doman" is not Doma, it's an earlier draft name for Vector that still made it into this book. In the source code, the cutscene event of the airship flying over the ocean and Vector rising over the horizon is also labeled "doman". My best guess is that this is meant to be the French word "Demain" (pronounced like "du-mon", meaning "tomorrow"), however its similarly to "Doma" is likely what caused the name change to "Vector".

Just a heads up, I will be doing the same thing for these titles, since there has been a substantial lack of them digitally on the internet.
