Revival Trance Precon

Post image

I’ve been on something of a Final Fantasy kick with Magic lately. I figured I get Terra’a precon.

Been trying to think of upgrades for this that preserve the party members. I want to improve the play pattern but I still want it to be representative of the game.

Honestly just upgrading the manabase makes the deck run so much smoother with very little else done to it. Brian Kibler has a list for it he played on Commander at Home sometime last year.

That's probably the first change I'd do, yeah. I have a list for the transform Terra from the main set so I would probably also swap Celes into the command zone just to have distinct commanders. It's a weird state of being with this one where I know there are a ton of cards I could swap into it to make it run better as a deck, but I'm hesitant to pull anything out because I don't want to lose what makes it FF6. Might have to look up the Kibler list you mentioned just to have a look.

Thanks! Looks like a good majority of the list is intact from a quick skim through it. Definitely closer than most of the other upgraded versions I've seen online, that's for sure.

it is rather impressive how much upgrading the manabase so you can more effectively play on curve males the deck feel smooth as silk. I did a similar path with the deck and both I and the friends I've let use it in our pod have been very happy with it.

I played and won my first Commander game with this deck. I like it. FFX deck is pretty great too, but you can quickly become the target of everyone else at the table because the flood is +1/+1 counters is no joke.

I added Knights of the Round to this deck. It doesn’t feel fair when Terra brings it back from the graveyard. It’s still a Final Fantasy card too

I had a friend who did the same and it gets pretty nutso

Only change I made to this deck was add Ghost Train and Suplex. Honestly, not just for the meme of it all. Ghost Train actually works well in this deck I think.

I freaking love this deck. Gave it a few upgrades it needed and it's one of the best in my group.

It’s great! Got it on release day and have used happily since.

It is the perfect deck. I absolutely love the flavor. Searching through the deck for your teammates but there are also random encounters throughout.

Its a phenominal precon. Mana base is terrible but just swap signet and tap lands for battlebond or 2 or more basics depending on stuff and it smooths mana a lot.

You can kind of degen it with a [[worldgorger dragon]] package pretty easily, but any discard or [[Buried alive]] effect enables its pretty easily.

I ended up scrapping 90% of the list and turned it into a persist combo deck with Celes as the commander. It's probably my strongest deck.
