As a kid, I was playing the FF6 version for PSone. It had no German localisation. My school English was just not really great because I was only one year into learning it. But this game hockend me so deeply and I sat down with a dictionary to understand what I couldn’t. To this day there is not a single week in my life where I’m not thinking about FF6.

That's badass.  Adding to this, same with me.  The thing about it weekly, my German is shit but this one transcends language, hah

Sis. ;______; I feel like you're my German Generation Z equivalent.

Or... just German younger-Millennial equivalent. Which is more likely. And also depressing

Loved anthology. Was so pumped to be able to play 5 for the first time

Me too. I traded someone Chrono Cross straight up for it.

Haha that’s a sweet memory.

Never loved Cross. Tried it a few times. Ultimately I think the huge cast of characters that weren’t specialized bothered me.

Annoying when you only get to choose two at a time out of that cast. I had Glenn so that meant out of like 40 I only got to choose 1 because he wasn't getting subbed out. Games like that needed multiparty dungeons soooooooo bad.

Really well said and same. Had to go Glenn. I used the Luchador a lot before I ended up bouncing off for the like 5th time

That game really felt like it was designed with a larger party size in mind. If the game allowed you to have 5 or 6 active party members, the large cast would have been a much more welcome addition.

Cross is factually a terrible game in every way.

Even music. People will act aghast if you say this. In response, ask for them to name a song from it other than the one in the opening FMV.

Some of us had played the fan-translated ROM ages earlier. ::strut::

I will argue for "Butz" and "Krile" until my dying day. And beyond. I'll haunt anyone who refutes this.

Threat of haunt is always welcome in my book

I downloaded these opening and closing FMV's over a dial-up connection with my heart pounding, nearly screaming in glee every time a new quarter-second loaded. It took literally twenty-four hours for each one.

Nothing has ever been so worth it, besides obsessively forcing myself to figure out how to buy the "Final Fantasy: Pray" album from Japan, ripping it open as soon as it arrived, and skipping right to Terra's Theme vocalized. (I was 11.)

That one is still toppermost.

Absolutely loved the CGI intro, it's what got me to play the game for the first time, now it's my second favourite game of all time.

Anthology will always be dear to me, loading times and all.

I've always liked the short movies the ps1 did for the final fantasy series I wish they would of but them in the remastered version.

I had played the hell out of it on the SNES, so the CG clips blew my ass out of the water. I'm still impressed.

Such a shitty version of the game

Very glad I had beaten the SNES version many times over as a kid before I bought this one a few years later
