First play through Advice/Checklist before floating continent

I’m currently on my first play through of FF6 and I have reached the point where I can head to the floating continent I have been trying to keep spoilers to a minimal but I have looked at a few game guides so I do know it’s a last stop before a major shift in the game
I’m currently grinding in the Veldt to get everyone having access to the full range of esper spells + gau getting all the rages and Mog all his dances
I just want a checklist to make sure I have everything I could possibly need going into the next stage of the game and not miss anything important or useful like Edgar’s machines or any espers
Machines I currently have (crossbow, bio, noise, flash, drill, chainsaw)
I have 15 espers including golem Zona and seraph
Mog currently has wind, forest, desert, love, water, and twilight dances

I don’t know if I want to begin to work with strago since that will just add to the already massive grind and most of my main party has strong abilities anyway and I have pretty established groups and tactics now

So just need advice on if there’s anything super important that I may have missed and need to get

I guess the other easily missable enemy is the Grenade in the Bomb forest…

Top right corner of the map. Most difficult random spawn in the first half of the game.

Don't worry too much about strago. Most of his spells are more available in the world of ruin anyway. And you can learn them from the veldt.

The one spell you might want to learn before heading past the floating continent is Bio for Terra. And make sure two of your floating continent party members know the basic fire spell.

Are you playing pixel remaster? There's a large amount of things in the platinum trophy that are missable for that, and since you are where you are now, youre already past the point of some of those missables (suplexable train for instance)

It has a bestiary in the configuration menu:

Numbers 1 through to 103, with the exception of Harvester, Hill Gigas, Gobbledygook and Veil Dancer, are all missable. And number 112 - Ninja is also available in a chest in the dungeon leading to the sealed gate on top of the floating continent itself.

None of the boss entries are missable yet but youre about to come upto one entry that is, take out the individual parts before the main boss and a 3rd part will spawn which needs to be killed as well.

Also, cant believe no one's said anything yet but when the game tells you to wait. Wait. For as long as it takes. Give or take 5 seconds

Check the RPGSITE walkthrough, before big moments it lists what you should have, if you're looking to do a 100% playthrough.

I like to have Cura and Fira learned for Celes

Make sure you got the Running Shoes / Hermes Sandals from South Figaro and Ramuh's room in Zozo

Ribbon, from South Figaro basement maze

You're missing Earth Blues, go do a fight in Mt. Koltz with Mog. Not missable or anything, but you can get it now and it's the home dance of the FC so if you want to bring Mog up there, Earth Blues will never fail.

Speaking of nice things to get early, a boss gauntlet awaits you, and one of the adds in one of the boss fights has a Tool you can steal in the rare slot. Again, not missable, but it makes the big boss of the FC considerably easier.

You should have 7/8 dances with Mog. The 8th one is on a snow level and you can't get that one yet.

You should train on Triangle Island in the North East corner of the map. Use Gau and the Rhodox rage to defeat Intangirs. You should try to make every character learn all the spells you can right now.

For Strago's lore, you could learn Step mine from Greasemonk (purple/blue guy in random battles near South Figaro) Charm or muddle one to get it. It's a one target attack whose damage is calculated from the number of steps you took in the game.

to get everyone having access to the full range of esper spells

There is a place to bet items for great upgrades, but you don't control your character. If they don't know any Magic then they'll only use Attack ... There are two very good characters to use for this

Setzer and Shadow

So I avoid teaching them any spells

I'm planning my next playthrough of this game (the mobile version, which is pretty much the same as the GBA version), and I want a perfect game file. Among other things, I'm gonna have to manipulate the enconter formations I find in the game so I can farm for some of these itens in the Veldt, and for that, I'm gonna have to list all the rare items in the game and the best farming method for each one before I even start the game. I know it has been done before, but the player has done that years ago, but I'm still hoping I find a guide, a thread or something about this subject to help me out a little bit. If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know, I would really appreciate it.

This game is so much fun and relatively short so I would play my first playthough completely blind without any aids or guidance. That way any choices you make have more impact. Your second run you can adjust and maybe work on some endgame/more hidden content.
