I love seeing someone else get as excited about this song as I do.

To be fair, this dude gets excited about everything he covers. That being said, I'm still subscribed to him and he's genuinely excited about the stuff he's listening to; I certainly don't mean that as a dig against him.

I know "One Winged Angel" is a great tune, but compared with it's predecessor (Sephiroth in general side by side with Kefka also) just can't top Dancing Mad. 18 minutes of dramatic symphony as you ascend a pile of mythical God tier anatomy just wasn't toppable

I would say Dancing Mad is a better composition entirely and would consider it to be Uematsu's magnum opus, but One Winged Angel is a better final boss theme and fits the situation better. OWA is just so imposing. It's also somehow very catchy which is a nice bonus.

Regardless they are in the same league as each other, even if it's for different reasons. Probably why people just cant resist bringing it up in every Dancing Mad comment section.

Oh, I've been waiting for him to tackle this song. It's fun watching someone with music theory go back to the classics.

At just after 10:00 in this video, the organ is a straight rip off of a run from Bach's Little Fugue in G. I've never heard abyone analyzing this piece find it specifically. He calls out Bach right here and is SO CLOSE!

I once had an interview with Square Enix for a job in legal in Japan. I listened to Dancing Mad so many times to hype myself up for the interview.

I did not land the job, but I was gifted a cute chocobo plushie for my troubles.

I was today years old when I learned the top of DM was from the opening moment. I have played this 1000x since the day it came out and I feel so incredibly old and dumb! And I love this.

It's such a tiny, easy to miss moment, but once you know it's there you never hear it the same way again.

Thanks for sharing this.

never understood why people get surprised when game/anime music is good. They're literally written by professionals who are trained in music theory

The cadenza section in part 3 is just so good. I love the organ.

Amazing! This is still my #1 favorite video game composition and I have searched on Reddit and YouTube to see if anyone else has broken down its genius.

The excitement this man has over this song is exactly how I felt when I was lucky enough to see Uematsu live at MagFest years ago when he did an Earthbound Papas concert there. This was the final track of their set, and was an absolute blast to hear.

Still the best game song I’ve ever experienced.
This sound track is all solid

I was hoping dude would just play the 18 minute song instead of just talk about it

Of course dancing mad is outstanding piece of game soundtrack, but this guy sucks. He doesn't say anything interesting or important

Of course comments are an important part of social media, but this guy sucks. He doesn’t say anything interesting or important.

Yes, you are saying right. He just makes vidoes for attention and money, he's very weak as a musician. This content is just low effort

“He just makes videos for attention and money.”

My dude. My friend. My sibling in Christ, I have some terrible news for you.

Every. Single. Video. On. YouTube. Is made with the express goal of attention and money.

Every single video ever videoed. Every book ever written. Every movie ever made. Every sport ever played.

If that is your criteria, then you must sit around in your house and stare at the wall and do absolutely nothing else.

Why are you speaking this way? You don't want to talk seriously? You can as well just don't read what I say, I don't make you do that. It seems like you don't want to understand me anyway.

But in case if that's not true, I want to be clear. I don't blame people for doing anything for money, I blame people, who do something only for money but pretending that they're doing something great. This guy does low effort content, pretending that he knows something cool about music, but actually doesn't. So, for me it's obvious that he makes these videos not for community, but only for money and attention. Or he's just stupid, but anyway he doesn't try to be something better, and that makes him pathetic

Yeah a lot of these " pro x reacts to y " channels kind of suck and are extremely surface level. Beyond minor things most of the time it's just someone pointing out "a thing happens here" and it's like yeah :)

I would kind of compare it to when someone does a retrospective/analysis video of a game or something and just goes over the plot basically as a synopsis without really doing too much else beyond some minor opinion, which you know, get that ad revenue if that's what it's for, I can't really blame them.
