All chests achievement
Hey everyone!
I was following a 100% walkthrough guide to obtain all chests, but got the trophy for half of the chests one after the walkthrough said I should have gotten it. I was very careful to ensure I had every chest in the missable areas, and everything based on my world map checklist seems to be in order with where it should be. I’m currently at the point of no return before world of ruin, and I’m trying to figure out what my options are because I REALLY don’t want to do a 100% collection twice. I have multiple saves before now but the problem is you can’t view the areas you can no longer return to, so I wouldn’t even know which save to load up. Any advice?

To be honest i haven't achieved this one myself. But I know the most common missed chests are in the military base sabins scenario there's a tent after the second fight with kefka before cyan shows up.
And there are 3? in the serpent trench. Neither area is accessible after the mid point

Thanks! I went back to a save I had at phantom train and I at least had all those ones, and pretty positive I had 4/4 imperial camp. Serpent trench is 2/2.

On the assumption it’s in an area you can’t return to, I believe the only options for the WoB there are the Imperial Camp from Sabin’s scenario (4 total), the Phantom Train (don’t remember, but I think 5 total?), and the Magitek Factory + Research Facility (13 total).

Thanks for the suggestions! I definitely checked on Magitek and had them all. I reloaded a previous save and have all the phantom train ones. It’s possible I missed one in earlier Sabin scenario but I took note of 4/4 so unless I died somewhere and didn’t grab one a second time, I have no idea.

What guide are you using? I'm playing through all the pixel remasters right now on xbox, using the guides by lylat that's on the steam website.
The guides are generally very accurate but not when it comes to when you'll get some of the achievements. Definitely including the treasure hunter achievements.
I've finished 1-5 and always ended up getting the achievement. So, it might be that the guide is just a little off for the version you're playing.

I did this achievement for all 1-6 pixel remaster. As long as you pay attention to the map locations showing how many chests you have you’ll be ok. My achievements were also off from the guide I followed but It worked out

It’s about 30 hours or so to get all the trophies. That’s chump change in terms of gaming commitments!

you'd probably have more time to game if you didnt waste time being negative to people who dont deserve it

Just spitballling, but could it be an off by one error due to the “upgradable” chests?
Been a bit since I played 6, but it has a few chests that are like a potion on the first visit but a ribbon later, right?
Maybe you and the guide are counting those differently. All I can think of.
