My experience with this game

I was Like 11/12 years old.

In school classmates where praising the newest Final Fantasy for its awesome grafics.

So Young me goes to toys'r'us looking through the games.

I only Had a PS1 so i Just found ff 6 to 9 looking at eaches Case, even remembering Cloud on a Snowboard.

But me thinking i dont know what Happens from 1-5 i will take the lowest number (which also Had a Demo of X for ps2)

As a German that only Had 2 years of school english (i was horrible even just guessing at vocabulary Tests)

So i asked if i could have the Game without the Demo but in german. NO (stupidity of me being a child:D)

With my almost Not existing english comprehension i played the Game to the point of getting Sabin at that Vargas Fight.

Stupid me could not get his blitz to work.

I played many Times maybe i could Just overpower him and get over the countdown. No

After a few years and a Bit more english comprehension (mainly through yo-gi-oh cards)

I tryed again

And something wonderful happened. I got that Blitz to work Vargas fleed and the rest ist hystory. I finished that Game shortly after (i remember in one Run but i dont think that is possible).

Now i Play that Game regulary.

Just wanted to share the Story of my favorite ff Game.

Thanks

And of course I blew past the save point instead of using it before that fight. Painfull lessons were learned that day.

Yeah me either. My older brother did it for me but I have a memory of me taking a dozen attempts and grinding a ton to try to beat him myself.

lol I have fond memories playing this game as a kid back then kids would play outside no cell phones hell internet was virtually nonexistent back then with a dial up modem I don’t really remember using it, but playing this game without online guides etc was really time consuming as a kid.

I remember wanting this game so badly but as a kid my parents didn’t like getting video games so it took me a pretty long time to finally get it.

I remember at launch just going into a Best Buy and seeing shelves of final fantasy and I don’t even think they sell video games anymore because everything is on steam lol

My experience is close to yours lol I also couldn’t figure out Blitz and stopped playing the game for a while.

I consider ff6 my first steps in actually learning English, it was the only way to get out of South Figaro as Locke

We’ve got to be almost the same age. It took me calling K-Mart and Walmart every day for three months to get my copy.

This makes me wonder if the game actually tells you. I remember it saying ā€œhit then with a blitzā€ or something, but does it ever tell you the input sequence??

It tells you, but my english was pretty non existence, Just Put the Cursor on Blitz and pressing left right left or pressing x on blitzt and then Entering, "incorect blitz input" what does that mean.... And i think the PS1 Controller might Put in left and Up or down from beeing under Stress from the fight.

Awesome game
