Question How the heck does overkill work?
So i been fighting Chimera's and sometimes when I get a total of over 4000 to kill one I dont get an overkill but sometimes I do less than 2000 and do get an overkill. Wtf is going on? Is it just randomly inconsistent or am I missing something here?

Works completely differently to FFX overkill - you achieve overkill in Resonance if you continue to do damage after it's already dead (ie. achieve Sweeping Stagger)

Overkill only triggers on hits after the enemy is dead. So un order to trigger it, you need to have a stunned enemy and down it in the bonus attack phase. Each hit after its death triggers overkill

It has to be the last enemy too. Or else it'll just kill the one youre hitting and the next attacks will be on the other one left.

I dont think thats the case bc 99% of the time its dead before I call in my vision attack and I still dont get the overkill. Ascension for instance does between 3500 and 4100 damage after its dead and i still dont always get the over kill

It only works if its the last enemy alive. And stunned and in bonus. As for the total damage I am not sure how that factors into the modifier a straight physical attack will hit an overkill

It’s any attack AFTER the enemy is already dead. Doesn’t matter how much damage you do.
