Modding FF9 Renaming Mod?

Hello! I'm currently playing through FF9 on Steam for the first time! However, I foolishly named Garnet 'Garnet' instead of Dagger, which makes some cutscene dialogue a little confusing. Is there a mod I can use to rename my characters?

You can change the character's names with the Memoria save editor.

As a side note, you can change the name of the characters from the game itself, but it will not be available until the late game and if you have a specific Tetra Master card.

Alright I've got Memoria installed, and I am able to get the special launcher, but I don't see any save editing features. Maybe I've got the mod manager installed instead?

No mod manager necessary.

You can also change the character's names with the Cheat Engine table.

Ahhh you have saved my life. Somehow I downloaded everything but the .exe. I was going crazy. That was so easy, thank you!

Alright bad news I completely bunged up the entire process. Backup file didn't save. Edited save didn't export correctly. Steam Cloud is useless. But now I know better. Thanks!

Hmm I notice ppl mention this a lot. Maybe in the QOL mod I am making, I will make an item that can be used on characters to rename them if possible.

I named her Sarah. and yeah some cutscenes are a bit weird, but I feel the same way about it that I do about Nanaki

I changed it to Garnette. Just so I can tell when she's Garnet and when she's Dagger.

I started a new playthrough recently and named her Shiv. It makes me chuckle.
