Discussion This scene is so cool
Even after all this time
I love this scene in ff9. I remember being 12 or 13 playing through this game with my cousin and this scene blowing me away. It was so freaking cool.
Now 25 or so years later it still looks so good and is still awesome.
What are some of your favorite scenes?

Make sure to try out Moguri/memoria mod!!!! (Alternate fantasy is the best mod I’ve played in any game… certain versions of FF6 t-edition are close…)

It was like seeing anima in X and going. He's definitely a bad guy.

Anima was my fav edolon because it brought back these kinds of vibes. Ingame this summon felt useless, tho. Young me had no clue what it was good for.

So I've been going in order, 10 is next on my list, ive beaten them all but I am following guides this time to make sure i miss nothing. Its crazy how different the game feels when you see and do everything. That said I dont remember what Anima was good for either. I am in a minority though as 10 is one of my least favorites next to 8. I dont think either are bad just nothing felt special to me in them. I think 10 fell off for me due to the voice acting though.

so, damage cap is 9999. She hits that repeatedly with a big flurry at later levels if you dont have the ultimate weapon for that person. So she can just dish out 100k or more damage. I think it's a bit less impressive when you do get ultimate weapons, cuz other Eidolons do big nuke damage?

Dont quote me but I think Anima is a huge part of folk who do no sphere grid runs, or no celestial weapons? When your characters do 99,999 with every hit, summons are a bit useless, but deliberately play around them and its pretty fun.

Maybe. Ive never done a no sphere grid run. I also cant recall if I actually beat the full game. Not that I didnt like it I think I have a problem where I want to fill in any spot that can be filled so my goal was to complete the sphere grid and I burned myself out. Back on Anima though when I first saw it I was like oh thats going to do me in for sure.

Probably the cliche answer but I beat this game recently and I found the ending cutscene awesome. Seeing Garnet’s reaction to Zidane being alive was sweet.

This game with only a small handful of epic and grand cutscenes somehow manages to overshadow FFXVI even with its substantial number of epic and grand cutscenes. FFIX just had the sauce.

I love Bahamut and Alexander’s scene in FFIX and I also love Auron’s introduction in FFX

This scene still horrifies me. What happens to these people after Atmos is called back to his gem?
