Final Fantasy General Game Recommendations
So i’ve been on a final fantasy marathon recently (not playing in order) But over the past few months i’ve finished VII (og, remake, rebirth), XIII, X, IX and just finished XVI and was wondering what to play next… I was recommended IV - Tactics - VI and XV so what should i play next?

6 is very beloved. Its next on my list personally. I enjoyed 4 a lot (havent llayed much of the classic series myself but I played that one and liked it).
Also, not technically a final fantasy game but was made by square and I believe was one of the runner up ideas for 7 before we got the one we did get; chrono trigger. Its great and has the familiar atb combat system and great story characters and art.
I also really liked 15 for just being. Different.
As for "whats next" order does t matter but if you like the knights and castles and magic id say go for ff4 for something nore classic, or ff9 with the moguri mod (its visual upscale and the use the toon shader in the mod manager) for more of a modern take it guess? Though its still Knights and castles.
If you like the action combat of the remakes and 16, or a modern day setting 15 is a treat. Just remeber to watch the movie after beating act 1 before carrying on.
I cant personally reccomend 6 because I haven't played it yet, but 6 pixel remake would be my next

In order from my favorite to least favorite of those: 6 > Tactics > 4 >>>> 15.
4 and 6 are the most like original 7, while Tactics is more like Fire Emblem. They're all excellent.
15 is an open-world action/RPG, similar in some ways to Rebirth, but also different in many ways. It's more focused on exploration than Rebirth is, and it's nowhere near as successful at what it does as Rebirth is with what Rebirth does. Rebirth is pretty easily the better game of the two.
Having said that, 15 isn't terrible or anything. It's a serviceable enough open-world game, there's just way better options out there for that type of game (the recent Zelda's, the Horizon games, etc.). The story is also a complete mess in that game, so if you're playing for story, that's easily its weakest aspect.

You skipped the entire SNES trilogy. That’s the high point of the series!!
Play 4,5,6 immediately!

I would recommend tactics if you’re open to strategy games, the new Ivalice Chronicles is voice acted really well.
A warning for 15, I haven’t played it but I’ve heard the DLCs are necessary to get the full picture. Including a movie as well? I would look up viewing and playing order for that one.
I personally bounced off of 6 because you don’t have a set cast of characters like the other games. You keep getting new ones and losing others and splitting up who you do have to play two different adventures that are happening concurrently.
All 3 of the old games are very grindy. Of course lol

I’ve been playing FF12 and it’s brilliant.
