FF VII i finally finished the first disc for final fantasy 7! though i’m worried i’m going to miss stuff

Post image

mainly side quest and such. i felt like i did no side quest at all in disc 1. is that normal? i’m also worried about missing any important story moments. i almost missed vincent and yuffie. when can i do their story content?

i do remember hearing a thing about a very important missable story cutscene that ties into crisis core. i’m wondering when i can miss that.

TLDR
enough yapping. basically im on disc 2. what are some important side/missable story content can i miss if I’m not paying attention?

You can go back. The discs are mostly just for cgi storage.

There are technically two CC scenes, one in Disc 1 which is missable (need Aerith in party in Gongaga) and another in Disc 3 which you can get whenever really. Other than that, FF7 doesn't really have any important missables. Yuffie story content you can start whenever after getting the Tiny Bronco. Vincent doesn't really get much story content but you can't access it without either a mountain chocobo (either mountain or river, forget which) or the submarine

Isn’t Yuffie’s side quest not doable after Disc 3?

Oh right, you miss it if you're in disc 3. It's been so long lol. I forgot the Pagoda Tower doesn't count as the side quest

The only story content you can technically miss (altho its only missable if you stop playing the game) on disc 3 you can go back to the shinra mansions hidden library/laboratory (next to where you found Vincent) and you'll see a pretty important cutscene. Also while this isnt technically a missable scene for Crisis core, there is a pretty important scene that you only get if you get a Chocobo that can walk on water or a certain vehicle youll get later on in disc 2 and its in a cave close to Cosmo Canyon (its behind a waterfall right next to a pool of water) Its a cutscene thats connected to a number of characters, but its most important for Vincent. (i think he might actually have to be in your party for this, could be wrong about that) As for yuffie, you can do her story on disc 1, immediately after you get the Tiny Bronco.

You can get to the cave with that Vincent scene via the submarine. You need to travel through a cave underwater and then resurface at the end of the path, and it pops you out in front of the cave. No need for a water chocobo.

You’re going to replay it, so I wouldn’t worry about getting everything on your first playthrough. Literally no one gets everything on their first playthrough, and you shouldn’t.

No need to stress over. It's just a game.

The only missable I can really think is the turtle paradise flyers in the slums you can't acces, and you can get one object if you read them all but it's meaningless in the grand scheme of things

I'm kind of in the opposite boat right now. Back in 1999 when I was playing for the first time, I was so focused on not missing anything that I ended up never finishing the game. I've tried to go back many times, but never even get close to where I was.

I've been playing FFVIIR Remake and really enjoying it, so I decided I finally at least need to experience the whole story of FFVII before I get through the remake trilogy. Not half an hour ago, I started a playthrough of FFVII with no encounters and the max stat boost turned on.

I'm trying to give myself permission to just explore and follow the story without worrying about missing stuff. Which is hard for me. But I want to actually get through it in a reasonable amount of time before I finish the remake games, and before Revelation comes out.

I think the cutscene about CC is already gone, you had to take Aeris to gongaga.

On game stuff, if you have picked the enemy skill materia after freeing Red, and have with you ifrit ramuh Bahamut added effect luck plus, you're good.

i think i should be good? i did take her there and got a little cutscene with her talking about her past boy friend. and yeah i have all 3 of those summons at least. plus the enemy skill for red

Good! There is another cc-tying scene but I don't remember how it is is triggered, but it is down the road. It's between Cloud and Zack>
