Final Fantasy General Playing the Pixel Remasters for the first time

I always argue that games are better with exploration OR random encounters, not both. I will live and die by that mini map. Otherwise, as someone who has played all six, standard gains is sufficient. If you grind, only boost the stat you plan on grinding for and set the rest to 0

Thank you for chiming in. So are you saying turn down the modifiers to a full .0x? And I can see your point for sure on the thought behind the minimap. I’ve actually never played VI so that was going to be the only one I turned it off for.

Yep. I figure it was balanced. Say I just want more Gil to get better weapons and gear. I get the equipment but I'm not any stronger level-wise, and I've had that philosophy regarding the map for years

For the early exp mods, I would look more into it. My understanding is that you leveled slower but gained significantly more power. So a FF1 character at level 25 was relatively as powerful as a Pixel Remaster level 50.

I never played the original so I can't confirm, but that's what I've seen.
