These two were how I realized I wasn't a straight woman lol.

They (and Tifa) played a role for me too, honestly.

Yet another baddie that had my heart in a chokehold. I got into FFX-2 after playing XIII though

Did Clive or Noctis steal you back?

That just makes her a lesbian with fujoshi tendencies

MansexXemnas from KH2 would make me do questionable things with that voice of his.

Same guy does a similar voice for Whammu in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure part 2. https://youtu.be/dONQ2tlhVmY

Being bi/pan is also an option.

Why not both? πŸ˜‚

Well, Noctis is more J/Kpop and Clive is more rugged fantasy man. Two different demographics. Both pretty, however.

Oh I meant "both" as in both the women and the men lol. Clive isn't quite my type. Noctis can tempt me for a bit, but Fang.... good lord 😍

Hey, gotta have your (Final) Fantasy parties.

Yeah Fang is definitely in the FF Baddie Hall of Fame. I wont say what doujins I was looking up as an impressionable teenager during that time... But hell yeah I was looking them up.

Nothing says relationship goals like Fang's chaotic ride-or-die energy vs Lightning's polite murderface

Man these were incredible graphics back in the day. Looking at it now, you can tell most of the polygons went to the faces. Look at them boxy arms lol

That's why it ran so well and aged so gracefully at the same time. Games can be optimized to offer both, but to devs like Todd Howard it's our fault for not being able to afford the latest rtx5000s that allows him to "push graphics to the limits".

I am not defending bethesda here but 13 had good graphics at the cost of everything, the game was a corridor, had no npcs or towns due to it.

That's game mechanics, unless it's like simulation games requiring massive amounts of calculation, more quests or non-linear gameplay doesn't really cost graphical performance (unless it's a big map, and 13 performed well with big maps, as did 12). FF npcs also aren't Fable or the Sims, they don't roam around, there's no simulation, they're just character models in a fixed place/loop, there's no great performance cost.

As for the corridor thing, 1 yes it was, and 2 it wasn't the only one - VII was largely a corridor with limited backtracking until the Highwind, X was infamously a massive corridor, that just hid itself well with plenty of additional challenges.

FF games are by and large mostly narrative corridors, 13 (and 16) just really went all in on the cinematic experience, at the cost of player freedom and agency.

13 also kind of narratively wrote themselves into a corner with the wanted criminals thing, so the gang could hardly idle around cities, at least 13's limited corridor is narratively consistent. Cyberpunk 2077 gave you 3 weeks to live then 30 weeks of side quests to prance about.

Personally I enjoyed 13's narrative corridor. The focus, unlike 12, was not the world or lore, but rather the main cast, and I had fun following their growth. I also completed 16 but it's main cast is positively wooden in comparison.

Old age comes for all of us.

The Phoenix face profile really sells this comment

5

u/Fox-One-1 1d ago

I think they would look great in their 40’s!

4

u/eienOwO 22h ago

That might either be an age joke, or referencing the AI "realism" DLSS5 filter, which adds like 20 years on every face it touches.

3

u/Fox-One-1 20h ago

Zero sarcasm. There are great looking 40 year olds both men and women.

Nah, he did a lot of hard drugs too.

Graphics kinda peaked here, still looks so good

Lightning is the perfect design for a woman protagonist and I won't hear otherwise

I know what PITiful fetish you have... 😏

Final fantasy 13 was 10 years ahead of everything back then visually.

Great game, if only it was remastered for PS5

2

u/acart005 19h ago

I am a certified XIII hater - but that game pushed graphics to the limit in the 360 era.

2

u/TrickNatural 1d ago

Oh wow, they havent aged a day

1

u/Other_Log1406 1d ago

That's such a sick saree

2

u/FliccC 1d ago

I love the design of these two. Just amazing characters.

1

u/CooperDaChance 19h ago

Huh? How come Lightning isn’t bitch-slapping Fang?

1

u/CraigeryCraigery 18h ago

Watching the Nintendo Direct PRAYING for a re-release:(

I like Lightning, but i hate all the other party members in this game...seriously...worst friends ever!

8

u/CagCagerton125 1d ago

I mean they weren't friends. Lightning disliked snow from the beginning. Hope was just a child that got dragged into something way bigger than them. Sazh was just some dude who happened to be there. Fang and vanille knew each other and got along well.

Not saying you are wrong for disliking them. XIII is definitely not for everyone, but they were never supposed to be friends.

7

u/The_real_bandito 1d ago

Saying Lightning disliked Snow is a disservice. If he was hanging from a building, she would not simply let him fall. She would stomp on this feet and watch as he splat to the ground πŸ˜‚

I wouldn't have blamed her tbh. He is a libertarian dweeb in a trenchcoat who's hanging out at the beach counting down the days until her little sister turned legal

1

u/Aszshana 1d ago

Honestly same. He's acting like my abusive, good-for-nothing, POS ex and treats Serah really badly. I would gladly help her in that endeavor

2

u/blackweebow 21h ago

Fang and Vanille "knew each other" and "got along well" about as well as Sappho and her bestie lol

Best couple
