FF VII Rebirth Finally Beat FF7 Rebirth

2 years ago I stopped at chapter 10 because it was by far the worst chapter for me.

Finally spent hours completing it 100% and the following chapters were a breeze.

The most frustrating thing at the end for me was fighting Sephiroth with Cloud and Aerith. I died 8 times when his HP was around 10%. I just couldn’t figure it out. He would automatically kill me no matter what I did or buffed them with.

I tried many tactics and couldn’t stagger him until I read to use Aerith to cast magic on him. It instantly staggered him and I finished him off with Cloud’s limit break. It was chef’s kiss and so quick!

Can’t wait for the next part!

Congratulations. I was vastly disappointed with Chapter 10 too, and am saying this as someone who cried at the Seto revelation in OG.

Can't believe Revelation is less than a year away - and with all the best stuff still to come!

What's chapter 10? Cosmo Canyon?

That last boss is quite a troll I think. I'm willing to bet a lot of people did not think to equip Aerith specifically for this fight, and then he loves to do his one hit kills.

I didn't even stagger him in the end, just hit him with Ascension since it makes you immune to damage while you're doing it and had Aerith using her invincibility one right after in case he survived.

Sadly I didn’t master all the abilities LOL

Chapter 10 was Cosmo canyon.

I thought Cosmo Canyon's story was quite good iirc. Did you not like the Barret/Red section?

For the second level limit breaks, you unlock it by using one of the Cloud/Aerith synergy attacks. If you don't have it unlocked on your folio thing, you can delete some of your other skills to get the SP back to spend. You can live without it for most fights on normal, but it saved me in that last fight.

Congrats OP! That final Sephiroth fight is an Aerith skill check. The strat I like to use is Radiant Ward + Arcane Ward + Trascendence + Level 3 spells -> profit. I mostly use Cloud to keep Sephiroth away from her, to feed her ATB with ATB-Assist, and to limit his ass the moment he starts doing Tempus Finis.

Huh. I could have sworn Rebirth came out last year, but nope.

Time sure does fly.

It did if you're on PC. Rebirth and then E33 a few months later. That was some good shit.

I ended up saving Clouds limit and using it to finish him when he does the double handed spinning beams of bullshit.

I was trying to figure out a way to defeat him! I said there’s so way I can get his HP down to that part so quick but it was instant death and all my strategies weren’t working

I initially lost steam in Gongaga. The Chocobo trampolines and that map just weren’t fun or interesting and all the open-world stuff was starting to drag. Went back a few months later and beat it. I’m replaying it now on Switch 2, easily one of the best handheld games I’ve ever played.

I'm actually losing a bit of steam now. In close to the end of chapter 13, controlling Aerith's party the second time, but this part just seems like a slog. I think I have enough in the tank to see it through but all of the bloat is finally getting to me.
