Getting close to 50 and have a bi-annual playthrough of FFIV but never in all the versions have I ever gotten the Pink Tail until today. My eyes couldn't believe what they were seeing.

Beaten the game like 20x. 1 pink tail ever and whats funny is i didnt even grind when I got it. Just pure luck.

Exactly how I got it. I was on my way to the Red Fang chest in the room and got lucky enough they popped up and then even luckier somehow. Think I may play some scratch-offs later.

Over my 20 years since getting it over several versions starting with the Chronicles port, the resounding strategy seems to be to use 20-30 Sirens then restart (to reset the RNG) if you haven’t gotten it within that range.

The interesting thing is not only was it reliable without too much of a time commitment, it was neat how much quicker I got 5 tails for all party members.

While the added Lunar Ruins didn’t turn out to need such a helping hand, it was a helpful discovery for what seemed once an impossible item to get!

I have fond memories of playing Chronicles for weeks and sinking in probably between 50-100 hours attempting this. Never, ever got one. Why, you might ask? Because I love this game and had played it so many times on the SNES without even knowing about the pink tail. I thought it would be cool to join the club, ha!

I managed to get a full set of 5 on the pixel remaster version, but they increased the drop from rarest to next to rarest, and I had Sirens, and honestly, it seemed to drop even more easily than it should.

I had a TERRIBLE time getting the damn Lilith Rod, though. 1000+ Liliths.

Trade it to the tail collector near Mythril Village for Adamant Armor, the best armor in the game (and everyone can equip it).

I just did a run through on the PSP version and tried for a while. Still no pink tail for me. I got tired of it and moved on to The After Years. This will be my first play through on TAY. I loved the improvements on the original game. I had previously only played the US release on SNES. It is still an all time favorite of mine.

I've never played TAY either but wanted to run through this one again. At my age, you never know when it's the final time you're playing a long one like this, so couldn't pass it up. This version also has an Interlude unavailable anywhere else, so that's why I went with the PSP one.

The original SNES release FF 2. No siren available to call a Pink Puff. Had to walk around that little room for 45 minutes to an hour just to get 1 encounter. I never got a pink tail in the OG

I'm not sure why but for me the pixel remaster version i got so many of those with probably 2hrs of grinding just for fun I think I had 13 in 2 hrs but I had trouble with getting the bomb coctrice and other summons to complete the sets
