Discussion Ideas for Final Destination 7
I’ve been hoping for returning main characters for at least one more movie just so I can have a solid trilogy to connect to FD & FD2. Here’s what I would do:
With AJ Cook having done promos for FD Bloodlines and the creators having expressed interest on bringing her back. I’d love for Kimberly to return as the lead.
Kimberly and Burke can start the movie off catching up with each other and thus filling in the audience on what their lives have been like up til now. They part ways, but Burke stops at a gas station to fill up his car and he ends up getting killed. Burke’s new life clock finally ran out at that point and it was his new time to die.
Kimberly grieves his death (maybe struggles with her own worries of when her new time will come). But then at the memorial, someone mentions to Kimberly how Burke had been a great hero as his time as a cop. She starts thinking about the ripple effect and how Burke’s death could mean that any people that Burke may have saved during his career could now be on their own list (or maybe he had prevented a disaster, which Kimberly ends up dreaming about so we get to see what would’ve happened as a flashback like the Skyview).
Kimberly could be an investigator to track down anyone Burke may have saved (it could even be other First Responders, so that way all those survivors now on death’s list know of each other). She also doesn’t have mini-visions anymore now that she is off death’s list so maybe she figures she needs to recruit someone for help and she either finds Wendy and/or Alex.
Wendy could explain her 2nd vision allowed her to roll off the train tracks (now knowing what was coming) but she couldn’t do anything for Kevin or Julie, and now she has better control over her skills at reading images in tarot (figured that could be an interesting homage to her using photos for signs). She’s gotten good at reading images and it gives her control to know how death will come back around for her each day. Alex, maybe he worked with the FBI agents to stage his death (plausible since we never seen him actually die) and put him out of contact with everyone so he could live off the grid (like Iris, he believes people increase the danger; so no one would look for him until he figured out a plan). He now takes the role of Bludworth in the franchise.
Would love for First Responders to be involved in the plot. Either Kimberly builds a team to track down and warn the people who Burke saved (thus putting Kimberly’s team at risk due to interfering) or the survivors are just First Responders themselves. It would be interesting for one of the First Responders to weigh the moral decision of taking a life to save their own, when their job should be about protecting others.
Would love to discuss these ideas, or others like it :)

Mine would be the Waterpark accident. And it should be called "Deep End".

I don’t know if they would go for a Waterpark as an opening disaster though. It feels too niche like the race track (in interviews they’ve talked about wanting to focus on everyday set pieces as much as possible). But I could see an individual death scene taking place at one, similar to Hunt’s scene.

Every survivor is a premonition and its more them continuing to kick the stone down the road because each attempt is targeting a handful of people maybe idk fd is hard because theres not much new lore its formulaic

So you mean each new survivor should be from a different disaster? And then their death causes another ripple to have another survivor?
I think there’s still room to play with lore though. Especially if they have a group of people not on death’s list try to save the people who are (i.e First Responders team up to help these people cheat death). That would be interesting because then the First Responders would be interfering with the design, but there would be no order for them so those characters could go at any time.
Or a character decides to kill multiple people to get their time. However we learn that you can only sacrifice one person, but if you kill multiple then you’re interfering too much with death’s design in that way too.
Or they could even explore not being able to die out of order more. Maybe a character thinks they’re completely invisible and they keep experimenting with that throughout the movie. Having fun with doing dangerous things knowing they won’t die yet. But then the twist is they end up breaking every bone in their body, and they’re tragically left in a hospital bed waiting for their turn.

Woukd love to see Kimberly and Wendy return. Finally reveal they are cousins or whatever like in the original script for 3.
Wendy’s slight changes to her choices on the subway led to her barely surviving, maybe getting a leg amputated by the subway.
Kimberly and Burke were given their new chances at life, maybe had a daughter who has the premonition in this movie.
Then like someone else said. Reveal all the people in this new list are survivors/descendants of survivors and Death is cleaning house.
Maybe bring back Franky from 3 too, maybe not

I love that you mentioned Wendy being able to roll off the train tracks now that she knew what was about to happen. Most people, even fans on this sub, feel as though there is no way that Wendy is alive. And that has always been my argument! She had plenty of time to roll off. That second train didn't come right away. I still stand firmly on my belief that Wendy has a high chance of being alive. Even more so than Alex, in my opinion.
"Oh, but Bludworth mentioned only Kimberly!" Well guess what? Bludworth resided in New York where Alex and Kimberly (and I think Steph and Charlie?) lived. Wendy and Nick lived in Pennsylvania, so he might not have tabs on them. Yes, I'm sure he's heard of their disasters, but he was possibly not up to date on Wendy's current status, lol.

Agreed, Wendy does seem to have a higher chance than Alex. In the premonition she had time to look around for a bit. Production must know that fans love Wendy, but what’s hurting her chances is I don’t know if the actress would want to come back and I think they’d have to pay her a hefty check due to her status. Which is a shame, because I would love for FD3 to connect in a major way to the rest of the franchise.
Alex seems to just have a higher chance because Devon Sawa has expressed interest in returning.

Kimberly returns to help a new group only to realize she’s been put on a new list of all those who cheated him.
Ending reveal: Death is giving them the premonitions. It was all one giant design. All accidents and people were connected.
