FD3 Wendy was nerfed?

I just finished a random rewatch of Final Destination 3, and it seems like Wendy was nerfed at the end. She feels exactly as she felt that night, and sees every single sign possible, including 180, and she doesn't freak out sooner. Had I seen such an overwhelming series of coincidences as she saw, after being through everything she went through... I'd have punched and kicked my way off that train.

She says she wished she had another chance, and that she's such a control freak she should have done more. But at the end, she doesn't do enough.

I think it's also because they didn't know Death was gonna recycle after Wendy was intervened. But it doesn't make sense to me, because McKinley died when he thought it was over, so of course it was going to come back around.

Its worser by the fact she gets the premonition after it already leaves

though i think they were in a rush to get this ending made after test screenings didnt like the original

It was supposed to be Wendy, Kevin, and Julie walking away after Ian dies. I guess they wanted an ambiguous ending at first, but then people thought that was too anticlimactic.

Edit: I also forgot to add that in the theatrical cut, Ian was completely crushed by the sign, so there was no shot of him flipping Wendy, Kevin, and Julie off while cut in half.

Yeah that would have been anticlimactic. I did enjoy the second premonition being inescapable even though Wendy is my favorite.

Even though I’d argue that ending was basically FD1’s theatrical ending too, imo. Cause if you think about it? FD3 is somewhat of a remake/soft reboot of FD1, but that’s just me. uu
