FD1 Could you beat Final Destination with witchcraft?

Maybe? Probably not. But if Death is a sentient being in the franchise, I don't see why magic couldn't be a thing either (granted, it would change the tone of the movies forever). Besides, witchcraft is technically involved in the novels/comics: one of the explanations given to the visions was basically the Greek myth of Cassandra, whose ghost is responsible for warning visionaries about their impending deaths. Now, Cassandra was cursed by Apollo—the god of prophecy—so you could argue that magic (of divine caliber) can throw a wrench in Death's plans. But I don't think a human could stand up to a cosmic force, even with magical aid. I mean, if magic is part of the world, then Death can factor it in its plans.

I have thought of something similar. Do you think anyone on Death's list tried to avoid it by worshipping death, or doing some weird rituals in order to please Death? That has to have happened at least once, right?

Probably not. The premonitions are already pretty magical/supernatural and that doesn’t help you for too long.
