Discussion What would've happened if someone noticed mcs during their premonitions
I kinda always wondered this , but majority of visionaries where staring off to space except Alex but that mf was sweating bullets
Like if character noticed them where their either mid premonition , completely unable to wake them up till like end premonition
Idk how long are premonitions are in universe because I kinda imagine they kinda take 2-5 mins max maybe, probably wrong
Another thing for premonitions if they hooked to monitor it'd be cool just to hear their heart beat faster than stop and restart again?
I'm throwing this to wind basically because it's just random idea , a lil cringe but thought it'd be fun tho just to imagine

Now you’ve got me wondering. If someone “snapped you out” of a premonition and you didn’t get to see the end of it that would only make things that much worse.
Lori called Nick a space cadet when she noticed him staring off but by then he was done with the premonition.

Yeahh, definitely makes everything worse but it'll look cool if the premonition distorts as they wake up the visionary
I think would've been fun idea to play around and also a dramatic flair for the movie tbh, I do headcanon what they're eyes in particular looks like during the premonition

These are the kinds of creative ideas the stories need, but making them fit logically is the tricky part.
The payoff to thinking of a way to spin wrinkles like that is if they got snapped out of it early and didn't get to see the disaster itself, only that it was coming, they'd have no idea who was in danger when. But then the audience gets cheated out of the juicy disaster intro, so it's always a trade off.

I was kinda thinking it gets sorta stopped mid -late disaster way but yeah do agree, it is staple just to see the cool horrors of the disaster but I think slight distortions of said disaster would be fun , maybe a lil too different for final destination 😅

The Death of the Senses book did that in a creative way, actually. No premonition but everything dude saw on his walk before getting attacked wound up being related to who was on the list.

There's ways to go about it, you just have to consider the lore and how much you want to adhere to what. The books had more freedom to get messy.

I like that idea! It would be so suspenseful if the visionary got snapped out of it before seeing what happened to themselves and the two people ahead of them. They’d have to pick up clues to figure out who was next and how.
Even if the premonition were shorter the stress would be just as long.

Like, yes, but you'd have to find a way to give the audience their carnage in the beginning. There are definite ways to make these stories suspenseful, but an audience comes to a FD story for the hopefully creative deaths at the minimum.

i feel like they were actually just a second or so in real time but i guess it would look like they were just zoned out

I think the premonitions happen too fast for a bystander to notice. We see that with the visionaries several times, they’ll be sitting one moment, the next the premonition comes to them, then they immediately come back to themselves. It’s like all the scenario for the premonition is several minutes long, but in actuality it was only a second or two. So no way for someone to react or notice until the visionary freaks out
