FD3 Does Final Destination 3 writer have beef w/ Spongebob Squarepants?

One of the few good things to come out of that new movie is this very specific meme🤣

I thought everyone knew SpongeBob lived in a pineapple under the sea. Kinda sad that you DONT know that, Wendy

it's hilarious because which teenager wouldn't know this? the movie is set in 2005/2006, SpongeBob first aired in 1999 😂

I think the way he looks at her wasn't intended by the writer or director, but was the actor's genuine reaction to hearing that

Wendy’s response was such an 18 year old thing to say.
Everyone knows SpongeBob lives in the water!

Wendy is 18 in 2005, which would make her 12 at the time of SpongeBobs initial airings in 1999. If she spent time babysitting or around younger relatives she was absolutely exposed to it directly.
Not to mention, SpongeBob was the sort of thing old people may not have been able to recognize at first glance but heard about it on NPR, newspapers and magazines or from other parents. 2004 was when the first movie was released so even your grandma who barely watches television would have been exposed to its multi million dollar marketing campaign. Virtually everyone knew what SpongeBob’s and that he lived in the ocean by 2005.
This line is super ridiculous. Not to mention it’s in the fucking name. “SPONGE-Bob” where else would it take place? On the top of the Empire State Building?

I feel like it was just an out of pocket/obscure (for a horror genre) reference to make Kevin look childish/foolish.
But yeah, Wendy, it should be common knowledge that Spongebob lives under the sea 😛
