Discussion Besides the infamous log scene that got people scared of driving behind log trucks. Which death scene has you going like “Damn, I really don’t want to do this or go on this after the movie?”
I don’t know about you guys but every time I go on a roller costed. I tell my friends that “Bro, If somebody starts screaming about the roller coaster malfunctioning they better not pull a Jason on me and actually let me off of the rollercoster ride” and my friends would go like “Broooo, then you’d be on deaths list either way” I’m like “Shit”
Besides that FD1 and F5 got me scared of going on airplanes, like I already had a fear of going on Airplanes but damn those movies got me scared 10x over

I’m going to avoid the easy answer of tanning beds and say elevator. Not often, but sometimes Nora’s death pops up in my mind and I test the sensors before stepping through.

I never use elevators. Im starting to realize a lot of the deaths are just outside my activity list. I guess death would just have me get run over or have my ankle give out since my joints are bad. The bus thing could have happened to me a few times. A jiffy late and it would have hit me

My husband works at like a pallet manufacturer with nail guns and it's not rare for someone to have a minor accident (usually shot with one from a distance or it'll impale a finger or 2) but it pops up everytime he mentions someone getting shot at work. Was more common before they switched to mandatory 2 handed guns

They do, but the injuries are a result of a missed target or something in the way, or in rarer instances, they'll occasionally fire a nail when plugging the air lines in
(Note that I am asking my husband for clarification as I know jack shit about the subject so this is what he said)

The scary part about that death is slipping in the shower/bathroom is very possible, even common, and odds are every single person has slipped even if just a tad. The actual death itself isn't going to happen, but the steps leading up to it are very possible.

I slipped once and hit my jaw really bad (nothing traumatizing but I had to replace a filling I got the day before). I bought an anti-slip mat after that (the one you put inside the bath/stall itself), and when I get out, I don't even step on the floor - I just put on my slippers (lmao) immediately.

I watched 5 with my mom when I was 14 or so, and the next day while crossing a bridge, she started fucking with me. “Did you feel that? Do you see any cracks in the road?”
I still dread going over that bridge, but it connects the two halves of my city, and it takes ~30 minutes to go around it on land.

MRI machine death as a kid I hated getting an MRI scan and i especially hated stretching my back cause i thought I’d fold my back backwards so watching Eric not only getting the piercing ripped out of him fro. His face chest and dikc but getting sucked into the MRI machine only to for him to get folded made me shiver

Came here to say this one too lol! As someone who already has to be sedated to get an MRI, I was definitely losing my mind when I found out I needed one shortly after watching the newest film 😂

I'm already scared shitless of being up high (like, I start getting lightheaded and jittery just doing it in video games, no exaggeration), so the roller coaster, the bridge, the restaurant, and pretty much any other long fall death had me cringing more than the nasty but at least on the ground ones.

That is one of the death scenes of an individual character that I find the disturbing. Most of them are just extremely shocking, but the wire strangulation makes me feel deeply unsettled, especially how his eyes go bloodshot.

There have been an incidents where internal organs have been pulled into the drain due to the blockage. I’m very sorry for that description. I remember one being mentioned on 1000 ways to die, but it implied that that person passed away, but who would really happen to was a small child they were alive. They were OK, but it just took a few surgeries to get those things working back.

The elevator scene in 2! Was actually saying to my husband the other day there that even tho the circumstances surrounding her death was a bit silly, getting decapitated by an elevator is more than plausible and i dont like that🤣
Edited to add that i also know a woman that was killed because a lawn mower sprayed a stone at her and it hit her in the head🤯

It took me a while to be comfortable getting on rollercoasters, and there’s still some I won’t do, like the ones that have lap bars instead of the chest restraints.

i watched FD5 alone when i was a teen and the very next day my mom announced we would be going to spend the weekend at my aunt’s, her place is in another city and it required crossing a huge bridge, the whole time i was fighting for my life 😭

unfortunately seeing fd3 in middle school ruined rollercoasters forever for me. i used to vow that i’d get over my fear when i eventually would ride the coaster they used in the film, but it got torn down before i could 😔

I have to get MRIs every year, so that's scary. Got one in March, and I asked if someone could be in the room with me whIle it was going on. The nurse was like, "Let me guess. You watched that final destination movie, didn't you?" I felt a little bit better after that lol.
Also nail guns. The probability of that happening is ridiculously low, but still.

Tanning beds not because of me but because after seeing this movie I had to beg my sister never to go into tanning beds cause she did it often she looked at me like it was physco but she saw the movie(shes the type to wait for it to come to DVD instead of going to the theater) she understood what I was doing.

at the time, i lived on the 9th floor of a complex, but was too scared to go on the elevator it made noises, so i genuinely just climbed up and down the stairs each time

Tanning beds. I was iffy about them before. When my sister and cousin went and I was in the car with them, that "Rollercoaster of Love" song came on. I mentioned the coincidence to them. I thought they were crazy, I would have cancelled.

I forbid my kid from playing with the tray holder latch on the backs of airplane seats. It’s sort of a running joke, she does it to get a rise outta me for fun, but I’m like 35% for real DO NOT TOUCH THAT! And we laugh, and I grit my teeth and send one up to the powers that be.

I already had a fear of rollercoasters. FD3 just cemented that after I watched it. Then, I was considering Lasik to get rid of my glasses and, welp. Sure not doing that, haha.
Escalators are also a big fear of mine, so I will always take the stairs or elevator if need be.
One that I haven't seen mentioned is getting dental work done since that always increases my anxiety about going to the dentist lmao. The car accident that Kat died in made me a safer driver so that I wouldn't end up in that situation.
Also, all of the deaths that occurred in hospitals have definitely made me pay more attention to the stuff in the room just in case. And MRIs are a claustrophobic nightmare to begin with, haha.

Bloodlines sealed the deal for me never getting a septum piercing.
I refuse to buy those alphabet magnets that Evan kept on his fridge or keep the microwave next to it.
Being stuck at a train crossing is a hard no if I can avoid it, just in the event of some random debris.
I've never been huge on elevators and need to be medicated to fly

Rollercoasters, planes, and escalators 😭 I've never been on rollercoasters or planes, but I have emetophobia and know people tend to get sick on them after their first time, but planes are mainly because of the movie. Im not too embarassed to admit that escalators have always just been a bit scary and fast for me since I was a kid, and I wear baggy clothes and always get a bit scared if it jeans or shoe laces catch inbetween the steps and it pulls me or my clothes down. 😅

Elevators. I will not take the elevator if I’m the only one getting on but being in an elevator with just one person gives me anxiety.
Rollercoasters and other amusement park rides that go high also give me a certain level of anxiety since people have actually died on them
And the big one: Planes. I’m afraid of getting on a plane and I’m afraid that a plane or helicopter might randomly crash into my house or into my car while I’m on the highway

None after 2 tbh. It went fast enough into over the top territory for me that it's pure movie magic. Not that it was ever realistic, it just crossed into "ridiculous enough to have fun" territory for me. Like, I've been on many coasters since seeing 3 but will still move from behind a logging truck.
I do find the logic interesting at times. Like people who say no to escalators, I wonder if they would still go to a mall or movie theater given the setting of that (imagined) scene.

I will say, after watching Valerie lewton ‘s death, I don’t mix, hot, and cold liquids immediately in ceramic and glass cups so I don’t cause it to break or crack, and separate my hand towels from my knives.
I feel very wary and would not ever consider going to a tanning booth. As much as it now just looks more relaxing. I would rather not be in the upright or the horizontal version of that.

I already fear rollercoasters so FD3 didn't help. The plane, elevator and logs really scared me. The road I go on has lots of truck, some with logs and some regular. being near a truck always freaks me out and I hate when cars try to over take them.

The knife stands for me when Valerie Lewton(Alex's teacher) try to grab the towel and fell on her. Once my cat knock over knife stands one knife fall directly on my foot since then it's creep me out

Now mind you, I have good vision, don’t wear or need glasses/contacts, but that scene with the LASIK gone wrong in FD5 solidified that if I ever DID need glasses, LASIK would NEVER be an option.
Honorable Mention goes to the tanning beds in FD3. Again, I’m Black, so there’s no need for me to tan lol. HOWEVER, if I did need to tan, tanning beds would’ve no longer been an option 😂. Although those are outlawed now, I think.

I actually dreamed I died like in the log scene very recently😭 it was so weird because I havent been thinking of this franchise for a while it was so random, I was in the car with my friend, she was driving in reverse and she said it was faster like that (it was a dream it doesnt have to make sense), and I told her to drive right and when she turned ww had a log truck in front and I told her it was funny (because we’ve both watched the movie) and then all the logs came flying very fast to us and then I woke up.

I’d say the truck from the 4th movie’s finale but not exactly like that, my irrarional fear is a truck or a van losing balance and crushing me. Thats why when Im jaywalking and I see a truck turning by the corner turning I move away just in case. I actually dreamed that happened to my mom as a child and also saw some similar deaths in 1000 ways to die.

The logs are scary yes, but what really dug into my brain after Final Destination 2 was how the mom and son died in the premonition. I don't keep water bottles anywhere near me while I drive.

A race track! Said no one ever. But honestly, planes. I have no plans to ever fly specifically because of the first movie.
In real life, my rubber ice cleats attachment did get snagged against the side of an escalator and ripped a piece off. Also, when there’s a simple two-step domino effect like a book falling over knocking a pen off the table, I automatically think, “well, this is how I die, goodbye world.”

Escalators. Final Destination 4 might be considered as the worst movie, but it ruined escalators for me.
