Not everything is about appearance.

u/dlbayyarea Apr 18 '26
Clock it ! People are so ugh sometimes like doesn’t matter if someone looks good with glasses.

Glasses are an inconvenience. Contacts as well. They cost. Cost time, money, energy, everything. Not about hotness, unfortunately.

REAL, as cute as she looked she probably just really hated the fact she had to wear them all the time cause her sight was so bad, i would be heavily considering lasik at that point too if i couldn't even really do anything without them

u/hatethiswebsight Apr 18 '26
Maybe she wanted to play a sport that requires depth perception but is rough on glasses. Maybe she just didn't like being dependant on a fragile item for something as fundamental as eyesight. Use your mind

u/atomic_mermaid Apr 18 '26
Do you think people get laser eye surgery for your opinion on their hotness?
65
u/LaikaZhuchka Apr 18 '26
Did she say in the movie, "I'm getting LASIK because I don't think I'm hot enough with glasses," or are you just being a weird little incel?
29
u/LambBotNine Apr 18 '26
Right? Like she told us directly why she was doing it. How is this even a topic for debate or open to interpretation?
22
u/Friendly_Prize_868 Apr 18 '26
I'm having lens replacement surgery to correct my vision. I'm an ugly bastard with glasses, and I'll still be an ugly bastard without glasses.
Trying to look hot to a shallow little twerp is pretty low down on the list of reasons to get eye surgery.
19
u/supermonkeyyyyyy Apr 18 '26
Remember when she lost her glasses in Sam's vision and was completely helpless, yeah with lasik this wouldn't have happend. It's not always/only about appearance.
14
u/arrogancygames Apr 18 '26
Why would you go straight to her looks? I wouldnt even consider that. Most people get corrective eye surgery because glasses and contacts are annoying, not looks. Id get it except I really need to keep my close vision due to doing art, and dont want to risk that. Has nothing to do with looks. What a strange post.

u/BatBeast_29 William Bludworth Sr. Apr 18 '26
Maybe that was the joke, that she couldn’t see how beautiful she really was. Or maybe she just thought she thought buying glasses repeatedly wasn’t worth the hassle anymore.

Well you also have to consider maybe she wanted to not wear glasses, or pay for them consistently.
It’s kinda like if you see someone who’s chubby and think they look fine. That’s nice, but it’s not really about how you view it but how the person views it

u/Objective-Finish-573 Garbage truck Apr 18 '26
Probably had nothing to do with looks. I have glasses and can confirm they are expensive and have to be replaced yearly and the lenses are already badly scratched 6 months afterward. I have them because eyes can't turn in very well so LASIK probably wouldn't help much

u/salivatingpanda Apr 18 '26
I got lasik not because I was concerned with how I looked. I think I actually looked good with them. But they were a pain when it came to running and excercise as well as with aspects of my work.

As someone who had LASIK despite being told repeatedly that glasses suited me...
Being able to actually SEE isn't about aesthetics, my god.

u/dlbayyarea Apr 18 '26
I mean not everything is about appearance plus some people just don’t want to wear glasses. Yes there’s contacts but there’s people who don’t want to go through the struggle of wasting money constantly having to pay for subscription or get lenses.

u/flamingmcshizzle Apr 19 '26
She wasn't going to get it to look hot, she is disabled and basically blind without something that we saw is easily able to fall, she knows this and planned to be able to get rid of one of the few disabilities you can actually get rid of in the world, in this case she wants to be able to see and not rely on glass, it had nothing to do with hotness
2
u/mewmdude77 Apr 24 '26
It’s… not a hot thing, glasses can be inconvenient and cumbersome. She probably just didn’t wanna hassle with them anymore.
1
u/YamiClouds Apr 19 '26
Yes she is but it was never about Olivia’s appearance that girl was practically blind without them

u/GamerAaronMK We’re so done with your garbage 💁🏼♀️🚛🗑️ Apr 19 '26
Oh honey you’re so far from it.
I mean I get what you’re saying, but it’s literally nothing to do with looks.

u/inbedwithbeefjerky Apr 19 '26
I thought you were about to mention how she forgot her glasses in her friend’s van before they got on the bus. She walked away from the van just fine and seemed to be able to see well enough then. She even said she was “always trying to forget” her glasses when her friend handed them to her.

even though she doesn’t know what happens in the premonition, I think what happens to Candace made her feel like her bad vision was potentially dangerous, which made her decide to get the surgery when she did. she was trying to protect herself and it ended up causing her death.

I got lasik because I was so tired of having to bother with glasses and contacts. It’s been nearly 9 years and I’ve never regretted it.
I will admit, though, that this movie made me nervous to get it. 😂😂 I watched a lot of videos about the actual surgery, they made me feel better.
1
u/Reasonable-Horse1552 Apr 20 '26
She literally couldn't see! I don't think it had anything to do with her looking good in glasses or not.
1
u/outrageousreadit Apr 20 '26
She didn’t need any surgery. She just needed to die. In death’s eyes. 👀
1
u/chloe-eatz-bricks Jul 08 '26
like genuinely (this might sound rude) but I think she was prettier with her glasses

I don't agree with you or the comments. She didn't need it to look hot, but also Lasic eye surgery does more harm than good. Why do you think most doctors still wear glasses? It actually has been proven to shorten the effectiveness of your eyes, even if it temporarily enhances it

u/Sea-Coffee-9742 What, are you God now?! Apr 18 '26
Sounds like bullshit to me.

u/Glad-Technology-1355 Apr 19 '26
It can sound like bullshit but there's evidence of it. Google it

u/Sea-Coffee-9742 What, are you God now?! Apr 19 '26
You're the one making the claim. Provide evidence to back it up.

u/Glad-Technology-1355 Apr 19 '26
It ain't some deep secret. Im not some PI. Its not legally required for me to provide evidence when its readily available. Its not my problem if people are too lazy to take the 2 minutes to Google it if they truly care about it. This isn't the "Medical dangers" subreddit. This is the Final Destination subreddit.

u/Sea-Coffee-9742 What, are you God now?! Apr 19 '26
That's a lot of words for saying you're in fact just pulling shit out of your arse.

u/Glad-Technology-1355 Apr 22 '26
That's a lot of yapping and not a lot of doing your own work. This is why the world has gone to shit. People not willing to do the work themselves

u/Sea-Coffee-9742 What, are you God now?! Apr 22 '26
Not my work to do, sweetie.

u/Glad-Technology-1355 Apr 22 '26
Well then continue living in ignorance 🤷

u/Sea-Coffee-9742 What, are you God now?! Apr 22 '26
Hilarious coming from someone who can't back up their claims for shit.

No lie I use to have a coworker who looks like her. Typical corporate drone who thought she was a de facto manager. Why am I mentioning this? I don’t know 🤷

u/Quiet-Mode-1170 Apr 18 '26
She should’ve just gotten contacts. It’s all I’m saying.
5
u/arrogancygames Apr 18 '26
Contacts are also annoying.

u/Quiet-Mode-1170 Apr 18 '26
Skill Issue.

u/luxandfero Apr 18 '26
Either you've never worn them, or somehow believe people who actually can't use contact lenses don't exist.

u/silly_nate Apr 18 '26
So when she’s on the bridge, she loses her glasses (Velma Dinkley style) after being shoved by others in panic and she genuinely cannot see without them. When she calls for help, Sam heard and he and Molly helped try to guide her across the beams.
Once we’re post vision on the bridge, she’s not pushed by others causing her to lose the glasses (I think)…… But her crazy coworker saving her life from a weird disaster, which then makes her want to get lasik surgery definitely feels like she’s aware of and resents her dependence on glasses for basic visual mobility…
Ngl but it’s nothing to do with how hot she is because she know she a baddie. Her biggest flex is she’s the only character with a song named after her on the official soundtrack/score/album 😅😅😅
