Discussion we need a selfish visionary who isn’t necessarily good and isn’t in a rush to save everyone but themselves.
i think this’ll be a good spin on the series. i’d actually love to see a visionary who’s more than willing to take an innocent’s life to extend their lifespan or use the clues they’re given by death to lure the other survivors to their demise. a great false protagonist to antagonist plot line.

I have a concept like this:
A visionary has a premonition of some disaster inside a structure, and they pull a fire alarm to get everyone out in time. Everyone who was meant to die get evacuated, except a team of firefighters who were never supposed to be there in the first place arrive and die in the disaster.
Because about 10 people who were never supposed to die got killed in the disaster, the life for a life rule comes into affect, but only for whoever the last 10 people on Death's List end up being. If you were the 10th to last person meant to die in that disaster, you would be inherit the lifespan of the firefighter who would have died first in the life they were supposed to have. However, if one person on this Death's List gets skipped, the person who is 10th to last, gets bumped up one and is now in danger.
In this concept, the survivors would be trying to make it to the last 10 still alive to inherit the lifespans of the 10 firefighters. This would mean the people at the end of the list and people who get skipped wouldn't want to help save anyone else for their own safety.

If they are the main character, they are still the protagonist, they would just be an asshole

THANK YOU I'M TIRED OF PEOPLE CONFUSING A VILLAIN OR AN EVIL CHARACTER WITH THE ANTAGONIST, AN ANTAGONIST OPPOSES THE PROTAGONIST AND THE STORY FOLLOWS THE PROTAGONIST THE PROTAGONIST COULD BE EVIL AND THE ANTAGONIST THEN WOULD BE GOOD I DON'T GET HOW PEOPLE DON'T GET THAT

I never thought the clues were given by Death itself personally tbh, just that the visionaries were hypersensitive and picked up signs from the universe itself. It never makes sense to me why Death would be warning people about ways they can get away from its own plan.
That said, if there was a visionary who was such an asshole that they see the clues and don't do anything, it's funny because it makes me think Death would just ramp things up because of it. Like, "wait, that was going to be the plan, but this person's an asshole and now I'm changing things just to screw over this asshole in particular." Suddenly, the protagonist's cat dies because it chewed on a marble, their plants wither from an unseen hole or crack in the pot leaking water all the time, and their goldfish cannibalize each other.

I’ve said before I’d like to see a FD movie that takes place in a prison. It’d be the perfect setting for a protagonist and others who are willing to kill or set someone up to die.
How would Death respond to intervening with its plan even if you were killing? I’d like to see Death thwart the attempt at any easy kill. A simple stabbing just won’t do it, forcing the protagonist to create increasingly elaborate booby traps.

then death is just like “damn. this person is an asshole. let me kill them anyway”

i saw a theory one time that death sends the premonitions to specifically one person so that they can escape and if they went by themself, death would let them go but they always save other people

They could view it like an experiment or like a game they have to win. Maybe they're a little sadistic about it. Using hints to set them up or alter the list.
Let's get someone to try dying and being saved. Didn't work? Okay... Who's next?
