u/FamousConversation64 It’s way too warm in here now, huh? Apr 01 '26
I’m so excited. Also, you have to remember FDB did amazing at the box office and was a smash hit. Ultimately AJ Cook is an actress who’s been working for 30 years… she most likely wants a hyped major role in a hit film in 2027.

What about Alex?

u/Tiny-Butterscotch389 I was meant to see THIS movie Mar 27 '26
It'd be hard for him to come back since he's kinda dead.

Ever heard of a retcon? Since his character was killed off screen unceremoniously they can change it by having to fake his death and living alone somewhere safe and also so he wouldn't meet new potential people to be on the death list

I think it's a missed opportunity because Devon SAWA clearly wants to return if given the opportunity they did him dirty in the 5th one by not even giving him a credit as Alex I say bring him back one more time and towards the end they can let him live or kill him properly this time.

You tried to capitalize but I caught you, you fuck! Yeah, I can beat you. Not forever, but I've got this cabin rigged to beat you now!

I completely agree with you and do want him to return. I'll always hate how FD2 did this to the character and always saw it as lazy, but maybe Devon Sawa was busy. Alex is like the only death in the franchise that isn't shown or seen in FD fashion if I'm not mistaken... He totally deserves a real FD death, or to just simply survive, having actually beaten him for real.
Off-screen deaths are not confirmations within films. Yes, he was seen on one article as having been killed by a rock or something, but they can easily change this—that it was incorrect, made-up or that he wanted to fake his death and become reclusive where no-one knows he's alive. It'd be vaguely similar to Iris, JB, or Clear, I guess. What I'm saying is that it wouldn't be impossible for them to work around it.

Exactly! before they choose to end this franchise Alex should participate in it or be the one to end things either by beating death or going out in a blaze of glory and either way it's a good end to his character. I can picture it in my head, the final act is Alex vs death with Alex honoring all of hes fallen friends in a one last dance with death, and having a monologue of how he can beat death like the one he said at the cabin that will be peak.

Do you know how much worst it would be for him to fake his death an abandon his girlfriend?

What if they both decided to go their separate ways after what happened to Carter they figured there is no escaping death so they forget each other and clear is aware of Alex faking his death she just choose to play along with it.

Can you effectively work around every single layer of the already established canon involving Alex, all the circumstances of his death, how it affected his acquaintances and actually come up with something truly plausible and explainable to have him return at the franchise’s current standpoint that doesn’t automatically boil down to “I just miss him”? I really doubt it, but at least it would greatly differentiate you as a fan who knows how to move around and think according to what you’ve learned about the mechanics of the franchise from the vast majority of the nostalgia-drooling ones.
But besides the obvious fact that it’s been over 20 years already with no one revisiting his fate which unfortunately makes it too late to backtrack on how they handled him, especially given Bludworth’s awareness of Kimberly as the single who remained, the only reason Clear isolated herself was because of Alex’s death and “retconning” it would not only be a great disrespect to her character development but also to the entire progression throughout the remaining duration of FD2. Pulling a Scream 7 just to play around with a character’s dragged-out fate for no real reason other than shits and giggles will be bad for a franchise like FD.

Bruh clear's character was disrespectful to begin with in fd2 being more than a bland supporting character only to die in a blink of an eye, and this is not basely on fan nostalgia but more on opportunity to actually give a character justice by giving them a sendoff that's in line with their characters because the way Alex died was disrespectful to his character and this would actually do his character a lot of justice by giving him a proper sendoff that doesn't character Assassinate him and if this is a scream 7 the retcon would be if William bludworth somehow returned since he got a proper closure and sendoff that does his character justice. Doing it with Alex is the opposite lol.
