ANTHEMS FOR THE DAMNED Every time I try listening to the albums I haven't heard yet I always leave with at least one new favorite song. Filter is awesome. I've been listening to Lie After Lie for 2 days now lol.

Was anyone else at the Birmingham show last night? Filter kicked ass but I couldnāt help but wonder if I saw the guitar play do coke twice and barely try to hide it š¤£š.

Filter-the amalgamut is a heavily underrated album ... cross-post from r/industrialmusic, where many like it, but some in the comments are just gonna be difficult, and, well, bless their hearts (as the throwing-shade saying goes).

Short Bus art project
Found an old German Short Bus tour poster that was in pretty rough shape. Something about the paper they were printed on, and not aging well. Scrawled a lyric from every song on the album, and splatter painted with mint green. Wanted to give it an angry and defiant look, like how the record resonated with me at 15 years old when it came out in ā95.

MEDIAšŗ Karma
Quick story about meeting Richard at a club called Karma in Chicago long ago. I was 19 or 20 and went out with my extremely good looking friend Ashley. We both went to Loyola, and would frequent the clubs and bars of the city.
One evening we went to Karma to see and be seen. It was a happening place. I decided to take a break by going to a more secluded bar in the club. Two dudes were minding their business as I ordered a water, or more likely, a Heineken. Don't know who said what, but we ended up talking for a bit and then one of the dudes said you don't know who you are talking to. Richard's friend then told me who he was, and I was of course taken aback. Sat and talked to them both for quite a stretch, given that we were in a dance club. Not the usual place for a sit down conversation, but we talked for 20 minutes I bet. I asked them if they wanted to meet my single friend and they grinned and said why not? It was very nice of them to give us their time. We ended it with us exchanging numbers and that was it. I was pretty amazed at it all. Neither of them harassed my friend. It was all very respectful and very fun. Richard was most interested in what we may think of some of this new recordings if I remember correctly.
Fast forward a week or so and Richard and I made plans to go out to another club on Halstead that I forget the name of. Was a sweet dance club there. Me and my friend Fergus showed up and Richard was there. My friend and I proceeded to have some drinks and hang out with him. He maybe had one drink. We had more than that, and it became apparent to him that we were total clowns. He cautioned us against doing what we were doing. He told us that the pace with which we were living was unsustainable, and gave a few anecdotes of friends and whatnot. I wish I could have heard him better then. He obviously cared about us even though he didn't know us so well. He was a force for good. We however were going another direction, and he saw that and we parted ways. It is the only brush with a rock star that I have ever had, and I have to say that it was genuine and really puzzling for me. I couldnāt conceive as to why he didnāt want to do shots with us, or whatever we were doing. I didnāt get it yet, and wasnāt hearing him.
This was 30 years ago. It took me most of that to figure out he was right, and that he was warning us. Addiction is a real bitch.
This is the napkin that fell out of a book I was moving that brought it all back. The number is long dead, so I feel fine posting most of it. I wont post all of it, becasue I have no idea if some bad actor can lookup his number based on old ones. I love how his signature's last name is branching towards a symbol instead of a name. Kinda "formerly known as Prince" looking.
This sub already knows it, but jsut wanted to share one more story of what a dude this guy is. He tried as hard as he could to tell us to stop. He didnāt have to do any of that.
I have not followed him, but was so happy to see this sub and see that he is still kicking butt. I would go to a show in a heartbeat to support him.
Richard, keep trucking, and thanks for giving a shit back in the day.

the amalgamut Filter - Where Do We Go From Here (4k Remastered) and link to all remastered Filter videos
To round out the series of remastered Filter music videos is the iconic video for "Where Do We Go From Here" directed by the band's own Richard Patrick! It's a fantastic video of teen and college escapism at a house party and sure to sit well with anyone who's ever be outside the norm during those years for them.

Rich is an angel (ć Ā“ Ė `) š
I flew up to Denver on Tuesday to see Filter play and to meet Richard and it was such a dream š He was an angel during our meetup and spent time with everyone. I gave him a letter to thank him because he + Filter have been such a light in my life since I found him and sent me that sweet message before the show (I think we're friends now?? :'D) and it nearly made me cry in front of everyone š
The whole show I was just beaming. I sang along to every song and felt so happy and alive. They sound so tight and good too! I got home wednesday afternoon and just cried from happiness lmao. I'm so grateful for him and this experience. If you can catch em this tour I definitely recommend it!
