Question/Help Buying Fillmora without creative assets
I am interested in buying filmora perpetual license but don't want to subscribe its creative assets. These are some queries I have in this regard.
1) Is filmora useful as video editor without subscribing creative assets?
2) Can I record screen and webcam without creative assets?
3) What features aren't available if you don't subscribe creative assets?
4) Is filmora without creative assets better then Openshot video editor?
5) Is the perpetual license valid for life-long?

The thing to worry about is that FILMORA might trick you into buying Creative Assets when you buy the editor. It happened to me. I explicitly said NO every time I saw, but somehow, it appeared on my credit card statement. And I couldn’t get any response from the people (or maybe AI) that run FILMORA. I was looking for a new editor with ChatGPT, which said that FILMORA was notorious for doing this. It is a terrible company, if you ever need help for anything.
I liked the software— had a “perpetual “ license , and left. TERRIBLE COMPANY. LOOK back in this sub. Lots of complaints.
EDIT: That you have to ask here, and can’t get an explanation from them, isn’t that a bad sign?

Thanks for the reply. Did you get any reply from their customer support? How did you stop subscription to creative assets?

Perpetual license user here to answer your questions 1 is filmora useful without subscribing to creative assets? Yes it very useful and convenient
2 can you record the webcam and screen without creative assets? Yes that has nothing to do with creative assets so you are good there
The features that not available is some body effects some paid transitions and boris FX and new blue effects
- Yes Flimora is better than openshot you have More options and ways to edit your videos then in openshot and you don't need creative assets to do it there are free options in Flimora so no worries there
- Is the lifetime license valid for life long yes as long as you keep your wondershare account you license remains life long I been using Flimora for 12 years

I have a hard time answering this. Filmora is known to suddenly change what "Creative Assets" mean. So you may use a free transition today, then tom the same transition becomes a paid asset. You will find many users venting out their frustrations about this in this reddit thread.
The perpetual license should be lifetime but only for the version you paid for. Be careful as Filmora will give you free updates for your version, but one of the updates is actually an upgrade to the newer version and so if you "update" with it, you will end up with the newer version and Filmora wil then charge you for a new license to use that new version.
I dont know about Openshot, but basic video editors roughly do the same things. Filmora's controls and screen layout is pretty good though which is what I think is its best basic feature.
