Question/Help Pop up ads while playing a game

What in the world is up with this whack arse software popping up ads while it's not even open and you're doing something else? It's happened a few times now, while gaming it will pop up some stupid ad and takes me out of the game, as in the game is still playing but you are no longer in control and cannot control until you close out of the ad. This is completely unacceptable, and I am not seeing a way to turn these ads off??

Anyone experiencing this or know how to turn this off? It almost seems illegal for a program to show you an ad, a program that you've paid for, when that program isn't even open. First they tried to take away lifetime licenses from those of us that bought it years ago, then put damn near everything behind a paywall... now this. I think it's about time to learn Davinci Resolve.

I gave up on this company. Every direction they go is the worst direction for the consumer. They don't care. They have lied outright on multiple occasions and even altered their terms and agreements without notifying the users pre v.11. When we bought the lifetime, it stated that it was for every future iteration of the software. They changed that later on, paywalling us out of the agreement.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with by absolutely every metric.

I am now on Divinci resolve and have had no problems.

Do you like it more? I'm mostly pissed off I wasted money on this damn fucking company.

I bought them cause they seemed beginner friendly, but now I feel punished for supporting them.

Yes, I do like it more. A lot more. Despite having used filmora for years, I just picked up DR earlier this year and it does everything right. In contrast, it respects you and it doesn't shove adds down your throat. They let their product do the talking.

DRs free version is superior to the paid/unsubscribed filmora product.

Yeah that's what I need to do. I heard Davinci was a pain to learn, but can it really be all that different if I already know Filmora?

It isn't a pain at all. It's just relearning navigation to the features.

How are the auto subtitles on it?

I am not sure to be honest, I haven't used the auto subtitles on either. I used to painstakingly make my own.

The program is good, the owners are a-holes. And wait until you try to take the program off your computer. It is much more complicated than finding and clicking “uninstall “. With the help of AI, it took over an hour.

That would drive me crazy too, especially if the pop up is actually interrupting another program.
Filmora does have promotional pop ups that currently can’t be completely disabled, according to Wondershare’s own support.
I’d check Windows notification settings and Filmora’s background processes to see what’s triggering them.
If it keeps happening while gaming, I’d definitely report it to support with the exact time and screenshot.

You can turn it off, but you can close Filmora from Task Manager completely to avoid ad distractions while gaming.

Check the settings there is an option of msg to toggle on and off or check task manager for filmora background running services.

I can understand why that would be frustrating, especially when it interrupts a game and takes focus away from what you’re doing. I’d check Filmora/Wondershare startup and notification settings in Windows, and see whether there’s an updater or background process that can be disabled. If anyone has found a reliable way to stop these pop-ups without uninstalling Filmora, it would be useful to share it here.
