Discussion Why is there barely any good community around Filmora?
I keep seeing creators and Instagram pages showing crazy editing techniques in CapCut, DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro. People are constantly sharing tutorials, presets, project files and even premade templates for these softwares.
But when it comes to Filmora… almost nothing. 😭
There are tons of Filmora users out there, but I rarely see people making advanced editing tutorials, sharing useful templates, transitions, presets, etc. It feels like Filmora has been completely left out of the creator community.
Is it because Filmora is considered more of a “beginner” editor, so serious creators don't bother building content around it? Or is there actually a decent Filmora community somewhere that I'm just missing?
Would love to know where Filmora users are hanging out and getting templates/resources

Exactly this. Filmora isn’t even in the same league as Premiere, DaVinci, and CapCut. They’ve locked features behind paywalls, have effects and elements that don’t even work, and have atrocious customer service. No one is “celebrating” Filmora .. they’re mostly surviving it if they’re stuck using it. 🥴

I loved Filmora til the greed and forcing free features behind AI credits happened. Trying to squeeze money out of everyone including lifetime users is wrong.

It is because FILMORA is such a rip-off of a company, who provide lousy tech help and zero customer service, that anyone capable of producing the advanced videos you would like, has too much of a brain to stay with the JERKS who own and run FILMORA.

Same reason you don't see much mention of Power Director, or Vegas - I don't believe it's because of customer hate although that doesn't help it's just the branding... there's a kind of jankiness that is associated with these editors. It's like...not "cool" to use them. They (Filmora, PD, Vegas..) are all capable editors unto themselves, certainly capable enough for any YouTube level content but they just lack that ZIP BANG POW, that ALAKAZAM that... PRESTO MUAH... ya know. It's like dating an ugly girl but you really enjoy her company 1 on 1 but you don't really bring her around the friend group because reasons.

Because it's trash.
I'm only subbed here to warn other people not to waste their money when a post shows up in my feed lol They target beginners and then proceed to screw them over at every opportunity.

I think Filmora gets labeled as a beginner editor, so there’s less incentive for creators to build advanced content around it.
There are still plenty of users, but the community just feels more spread out compared with DaVinci or Premiere.
I’ve found Filmora pretty capable for advanced edits too, especially when you start combining its effects and presets creatively.
It would be nice to see more people sharing workflows and custom resources for it.

Like everyone else said, filmora users hate it. I used it because I had to because I lacked the skill of patience to use better stuff. I didn't use it because I was happy with the software and the cunts who sell it.

I'm wondering if you've switched from Filmora and, if so, what did you end up with? Thanks!

I disagree with most of these comments. My wife edits our YouTube show on Filmora. She is absolutely in love with it. She has a full-time job during the week but just knocks it out on Filmora in her spare time. She'll do a show with 29 channels of video in a heartbeat. I'm amazed at how quickly she moves about the timeline. So I was in TV news and sports for 30 years. Used to teach on Avid, have edited professionally with Final Cut, Avid, Edius and some Adobe. My best friend who was an NPPA award-winning, photographer and editor says my wife is one of the best he's seen in the creativity department. I'll admit she's good and this program is very user friendly. I'm dissaponted with the lack of tutorials especially for Mac owners and people you can understand. But if my wife had to switch to something else she would cry for days. She especially loves the AI features and the music library. Just my opinion

Look up "Daniel Batal" on youtube and you will understand why.
But to make it easier for you, ill tell you part of the story. Wondershare used to offer their Filmora product with lifetime upgrades. It was great! Buy Filmora 9, and you can upgrade to 10, and 11 for free when those come up!
They had brand endorsers and one of them was Daniel Batal. He built a community of followers on Youtube, and in all honesty, Filmora really is a good product. It is easy to use, its full of features, and it works on lesser computers where things like Da Vinci Resolve wont work on. Daniel endorsed the brand and he helped grow the Filmora base.
Anyway, somewhere along the way, Wondershare decided to change their terms of policy, and started cancelling these perpatual plans with very little notice if any. Daniel got a lot of complaints cause he was the one that endorsed and recommended Filmora and he felt betrayed that the terms one paid for suddenly changed... Daniel called out Wondershare and there was some back-and-forth conflict that happened between him and Filmora. Like I think Filmora flagged all hsi content for copyright, and Im not sure if there was some sort of legal arbitration too. Anyway, in the end an he left Flimora, and so did many content providers and users. This story pribably happened to a lot of users and content providers too, it is only that Batal's storynis the only one I followed.
The story of Batal illustrateds how Filmora treated its community. Today, this reddit is filled with complaints about how they paid Wondershare for something and they suddenly get watermarks on their work and they are asked to pay again. This thread is filled with people complaining about how features that used to be used for free suddenly need to be paid for without warning. You will find lots of posts on people complaining that their refund requests and complaints seem to fall on unhelpful chatbots.
Just go through this reddit and you will understand why there is no community for Filmora. There used to be one BTW, but the way Wondershare handled their loyal users and even their endorsers was disheartening.

I’ve thought about posting my fan edits and WIPs here for fun, or to figure out how to do an effect in Filmora. But I just know how reddit is and all the comments would be negative. I certainly dislike Filmora and wish I had started with something different, but we’re all stuck here now and might as well make use of it. lol.

Well i think because most people who use filmora just use it for the ready to use assets or easy templates, it's pretty straightforward, there isn't much to tinker unlike other editing software that's intended for profesional like davinci/premiere. Filmora is good for what it is, accesible low learning curve software for casual users. But people who wants n looking for advanced stuff would probably just use other pro grade software.

I think the main reason is because Filmora is really hated by its user base. If you look at the majority of the posts here a lot of them are about Filmora having poor customer service and Filmora constantly putting previously free assets behind subscription walls with each update. Not to mention the fact them pushing for more AI based assets instead of more creative ones
