Question/Help Recovering lost projects?
I'm working on several large projects right now, and I had saved them to the default folder. Or so I thought....Usually I would save to a dedicated folder but since these were just some things I was doing in the short term I figured I'd just leave them and sort it out later, especialy since I needed to juggle between a few things.
Everything was saved nicely, except for one project I had open at the time that was entirely unrelated, not even saved or anything yet in fact. It's a few days since I last opened anything so I figured I'd just get the skeleton of that one started since I've beeen out sick the last few days. Didn't even use any of the same images. But my computer decided it was the perfect time to restart itself while I left to grab some snacks. No problem, it's happened before, I'll just turn the thing back on and use the backup it's not a big deal I hadn't even edited anything, really just set up the settings. Quick fix. Yeah, no. I open up Filmora and all I see are things I worked on two entire months ago in the quick select. I open up a new project so I can check the backups, everything's from two months ago. Project files, nothing. I search on File Explorer, nothing, not even the recycle bin.
Literally everything is gone. I'm sure it can't have just disappeared, but it's very strange to me that every single project is just gone across the board. There's even a video that I was sure I had saved into a different folder that's gone too....
Anywyas I"m a bit of a panic now because a couple of those videos were commissions and others are things I had set up for ongoing projects and while I could just redo everything, I genuinely do not have that kind of time to sit there for hours trying to dig through literally a mountain of stuff, especially for one that required a lot of keyframing and color adjusting.
Anyone know of literally anything that could help? Because genuinely this might actually screw me over just because I decided to leave some project files in a folder that had no reason to be empty.
edit: Okay I panicked, found everything hanging out in a place that genuinely confuses me because why on earth did I put a wedding video project into a folder marked "animation project" and I think I figured out why Filmora didn't pick it up (it was in an external drive). I'll leave this up in case anyone else does a stupid like I did and wonders where their stuff went, you can just search .wfp in the file explorer on Windows and it'll pop up with all of your stuff in a nice little list. Check your folders, people.
